Pool J Round-Robin Game
Game 1
Lots of excellent wight hunting marks the start of this match. DC went with a zero-archer force, choosing instead to opt for 3 journeymen and max infantry. The Companions were able to submerge many wights successfully, but when it came to a final rush DC were able to neutralize all of the wights that came at them, with thrall, journeymen, and other wights (combined with running in the opposite direction). An excellent display of how to survive enemy wights. Game 2
Both armies sent all of their forces to the center and a prolonged battle ensued. Very active wight hunting from both sides, with only two of DC's wights becoming successfully submerged. DC won a pivotal archer battle, causing The Companions to rush them. DC's two wights were able to soften up the main thrall block and surgically freeze the enemy troops in melee. It didn't help that The Companions' pus ghols misfired and pussed most of their warriors. A comprehensive victory to the Dwarven Cannibals. Game 3
DC started SE, The Companions in the north. After the initial rush, both armies had 3 flags, The Companions ahead. The majority of each army was staring at each other in the center; DC rushed while one of The Companions' trow was away. Unfortunately said trow tagged a fourth flag, and the Cannibals forgot to protect their flag in their haste to rush before the trow got back. Companions tagged all 5 for the win. Match Summary (films)
An impressive match between two very skilled teams. The Dwarven Cannibals walked away with the first and second games, but came unstuck in the third game. Perhaps showing their tendency to kill first and get flags later? :) - Butcher
