Crimson Legion 98 0   Loss
Men of Rohan 67 6 win + 30% Win

The Men of Rohan started in the NE and chose only one wight, using the extra points for ghols. CL once again opted for a four wight army with mixed archer and ghol support. Using the simple but effective tactic of sending a pack of ghols up the gut MoR was able to threaten the juicy backside of the Crimson Legion's army. Inexplicably the ghols didn't attack wights out in the open. Rather, they seemed hell-bent on cutting down any and all archers they saw. Throughout the game the well controlled ghols of Rohan continued skirmishing with CL's archers (nice taunts by units on both sides). This attrition of ranged units allowed MoR to win an archer war over the mudbath that was home to the flag. After the legion's archers fell, warriors became the next target of opportunity. It was then that MoR's ghols began to hunt wights in earnest and they were suprisingly effective at neutralizing this pus filled threat. CL's own ghol pack was not as fortunate, and while it was able to draw away roughly 9 warriors and some thrall from MoR's primary battleforce the effect of the archer war was too great. As a result the Men of Rohan rode to victory in this game.

Crimson Legion 47 9 win + 6 flags Win
Men of Rohan 103 0   Loss

Both armies stayed predictable in unit choice (very similar army composition to the creep game, with MoR adding one more wight). This time the Crimson Legion was out for blood. MoR (starting in the east) used a 27 warrior flank with archer support to the south, while thrall held the middle. CL instead opted for a fast flank of warriors and ghol to sweep from north and defended the bridge with both archers and wights. Once again a ghol pack through the middle was used by MoR to hunt for weak spots in the enemy armor. This resulted in the deaths of some of the CL wights. Despite this the Men of Rohan were in slight disarray as to where they should send archers. In sharp contrast to this disarry was a beautiful fast flank pulled by Leadfeather (wars taking the shorter route and hugging the water, while ghols were on the outside). Due to the splendid speed of this flank CL was able to decimate the MoR army in the mid E. Once again CL showed a special talent for using archers in coordination with other troops and were able to draw Rohan thrall into a nasty crossfire on the bidge. By the time the MoR flank was able to reach the midwest the battle had been won by CL. The resulting two waves of Crimson Legion infantry were simply too much for MoR to repulse, and CL won by elimination. In hindsight MoR might have been able to hang on to a flag or 2 by retreating what warriors they had left.

Crimson Legion 28 8 win + 5 flags Win
Men of Rohan 34 4 4 flags Loss

MoR started in the SW while CL was unfortunate to have the SE start. Both armies elected to defend the middle flags. Of note was MoR's choice of a rarely seen fetch. First blood in the trow sparring was inflicted by the towering giants of Rohan. Both teams then withdrew to their middle flag defenses. Both teams stood even with 3 flags each. It was here that MoR made a crucial mistake. As the middle battle began to heat up MoR sent a slightly delayed trow to the NE flag while CL opted to send a zerk NW. This allowed CL to make up for the damaged trow in the melee battle that was to occur. The lone Rohan fetch was able to get in one good blast before the mixed infantry met in hand to hand battle, however restraint was not the word of the day and a second blast amounted to what can only be called as friendly fire. With considerable losses CL was then able to finish off the middle flag defenders of MoR and win the game.

Superior ghol work by MoR was not enough to steal the tide of battle. This, in addition to CL's superior coordination, swung the tide of battle in favour of the Crimson Legion.
