Game 3
Game 1
The Dwarves separated into two teams, as per the rules; Blackbeard, YSD and BlackAngel started northwest, while Sven, Crazy Ike and Scuzz Zerk started southwest. Cross of Valor similarly split, Wads and Integrity starting center while Hedge and Kenta started in the northeast. Both the CoV armies linked up in the center-west, while the Dwarves chose instead to run around madly gathering balls, for a total of 6 all stashed in the northwest. Cross of Valor then split up and moved west to attack the plaid forces, each army facing off against a single opponent. Integrity's army moved swiftly towards Sven's troops, and lost the initial archer battle. They then charged piecemeal at a superior force, losing badly. Meanwhile, Hedge's army was eyeing up Blackbeard's stash in the north, making a pus run which failed dismally. The melee battle was extremely close, CoV eventually winning out with a few wounded thrall. However, they were unable to defend against Sven's veteran warriors swooping up from the south and the Dwarves mopped up for a comfortable win. Game 2
Cross of Valor started in the center and northeast, the Dwarves' armies southwest and southeast. All four armies moved rapidly south, resulting in a four-army pileup in the river. Blackbeard's troops were the last to arrive and the only ones to remain standing, with a few archers and thrall. They set up a very defensive position and failed to chase down Integrity's three ghols and one archer, letting Cross of Valor claim four balls for the win. Game 3
Both armies took a few archers, and only two wights, the Dwarves healing both for pus while CoV retained one for explosive potential. They both sent flanks towards the NW flags, the Dwarves only sending seven berserkers and a few pus ghols to confront CoV's forest giant and twenty berserkers. Luckily for #CP#D, their flank was able to run back to their main force, with the sacrifice of only one pus ghol. CoV pushed in, and a shambles of an attack resulted in the loss of all their berserkers, the forest giant and journeyman; however, they did take the Dwarves' forest giant with them. #CP#D's remaining infantry headed to the center and demolished CoV's warrior-archer force handily, enabling them to mop up for a 9-flag win. Game 4
CoV started in the northwest, while the Dwarves started in the southwest. CoV sent a big giant + berserker flank straight at #CP#D's rearguard, which scared them away to the center. CoV followed, and a climactic battle in the middle was won by CoV due to poor zerk and FG usage on the Dwarves' part. Game 5
Neither army started in the middle, and #CP#D quickly seized the large rock in the northeast for their soulless. The CoV soulless started pummelling the Dwarves' thrall, and this prompted their soulless to move off the hill and attack. Nice placement of CoV's soulless just below a lip in the terrain (this may have been accidental) shielded them from enough spears to turn the tide of the battle, and they won the soulless battle with 5 to spare. #CP#D's warriors ran away from the rain of spears towards the outside, and were too far away when time started running out. CoV easily blocked their thrall from the hill, for the win. Match Summary (films)
A hard-fought battle, decided in favour of the Dwarves due to superior coordination in the first two games. Cross of Valor must be kicking themselves for not talking more, especially in the first game. Very close match! It would be interesting to have seen the result of the final two games if the Dwarves' full team had remained; Sven and YSD on their own were unable to take on the 5 members of CoV and conceded more points than they would have liked. - Butcher
