Game 2
Game 1
The Dwarves went for only four soulless and true to their name selected a veritable regiment of Olegs, scorning the fragile Fetch in favour of their surly comrades. They also made certain to include an army of berserks and myrmidons in their horde. Meanwhile, Aleph Naught were selecting a large armada of soulless, fetch and dwarves, and taking a greatly reduced infantry battalion; not a myrmidon in sight. The game started, and the Dwarves' trow surged across the bridge, striking swiftly at the isolated AN wights. They split their army into a large south flank, while Aleph Naught stayed bottled up on their side of the bridge. #CP#D came quite close to a 6-flag victory early on, which prompted Aleph Naught to secure their middle flag more strongly. The Dwarves' trow continued harassing the beleaguered AN army, causing several of their olegs to blow themselves (and their comrades) up and wreaking havoc on under-defended, expensive fetch. The Dwarves' superior control-clicking skills and massive melee superiority easily let them crush AN's main force and win by elimination. Game 2
This game, Aleph Naught dumped all their soulless, as did #CP#D. Both teams flanked anti-clockwise, AN with melee and a trow whereas the Dwarves sent a small infantry brigade and three Olegs. Chaos ensued in the center, Blackbeard's flanking dwarves taking out most of Ravager's dwarves, fetch and infantry. Eventually these three dwarves were killed, and Blackbeard charged his melee forces into overwhelming enemy force and was demolished. It didn't matter, though, as #CP#D converged from the north and the middle on the enemy center and used overwhelming force to win by elimination again. Game 3
#CP#D started in the northeast, while Aleph Naught started 'just next door', in the southeast. The Dwarves' zerks and spiders ran off to tag balls, while AN came north with their entire force. Seeing this, the Dwarves' zerks came home quickly. Both teams lost their trow kicking the enemy dwarves, and the armies then stared at each other for a few minutes. AN started an archer war, but they were already one archer down, and #CP#D's height advantage (plus a few nice cocktails) meant that their ki'Angsi squad fell without taking out a single one of the Plaid archers. Aleph Naught's main force followed soon after, and the Dwarves started to clean up. An Aleph Naught spider ran a ball all the way to the edge of the map, and although it was still in play, #CP#D failed to get to it in time, resulting in an 8-1 win. Game 4
This game, the Dwarves started in the southwest, while Aleph Naught's army found itself in the northeast. #CP#D sent most of their force out to get balls, while AN left the bulk of their infantry at home. This let the Dwarves achieve an early 5-4 ball lead. Derfel's trow tried a ball steal, but strayed within the range of the Dwarves' archer heroes for a few fatal seconds and was cut down by arrows. AN then charged the Dwarves' defended position with their infantry, but they were too late. Game over, 5-4. Game 5
The Dwarves took two wights, healing both for pus. They only had a few ghols, choosing instead to spend their points on additional thrall and archers. Meanwhile, Aleph Naught had taken the full six wights, marching them out to the front of the village in a nice line and healing them all for pus. They also had a dwarf and more ghols, resulting in minimal thrall and only a few archers. At the start of the game, Sven ran a single ghol into the AN pus factory, triggering the three ghols who had already 'pussed up', causing one to ignite the pus lying freshly healed on the ground. Due to the nice formation that the wights had been placed in, a chain reaction rippled along the ground, sending bits of diseased flesh flying everywhere. Wights healed: 6. Total ghols equipped with useful pus: 0.
Derfel: what happened? Ravager's entire ghol and journeyman army then rushed the Dwarves' assault force which was setting up at AN's wall opening. Perhaps trying to atone for their crimes, the ghols bravely charged down the enemy archers, and even managed to kill five before being cruelly cut to shreds. Aleph Naught then staged a retreat to their village. Derfel got dropped from the game, just as his warriors engaged the Dwarves' warrior and thrall force in a big battle. AN's archers were impeded by their thrall 'defense' force, pussed and killed, while their dwarf threw cocktails into a mixed melee and ended up killing half the defense The tattered remnants of #CP#D's assault force emerged from their battle and were able to crush the few remaining thrall defenses to take the flag and win. Match Summary (films)
The Dwarves show Aleph Naught that they are not to be trifled with, in a painful 5-0 series of games. Not as convincing a victory as some, but still a series of films to wince at. - Butcher
