King Alric declares World-Wide Holiday for Opening Ceremonies |

In celebration of the highly anticipated Myth World Cup Opening Ceremonies at
the newly renovated Stoneheim Memorial Coliseum, King Alric declared August 10,
1998 as a World-wide holiday. All beings and races came together in relative
peace and harmony to share in the festivities. In addition, Alric has issued a
decree requesting that all of his subjects attend qualifying round matches at
their nearest Myth World Cup host facility.
Highlights of the included a song and dance presentation by the Madrigal City
Warrior Vaudeville troop and a breathtaking fireworks display organized by the
Dwarven Honor Brigade in conjunction with the Fetch Industrial Light & Magic
Company. The ceremonies were only slightly marred by the random pieces of
armor and persistent scorch marks which lingered from the prior evening's
pre-MWC match-up between the Myrgard Maudlins and Bahl'al's Battlers,
but the presentations were so extravagant that no one seemed to take much
notice.
Registration for the tournament has closed and the brackets for the
qualifying round have been established. Over the next two weeks the swords
will fall and the heads will surely fly as the excitement reaches a fever
