MADRIGAL ---- Just hours ago the Quad-Cities Tournament Ruling Board publicly
announced the final roster for its All-Star entry into this year's Myth World
Cup competition. The Tyr Protectors keep their entire squad intact as a
reward for their victory in last week's exciting Quad-Cities Tournament, while
two players from each of the three remaining teams have been selected by the
Ruling
Board and added to the Protectors' lineup. The selection process, according to
an inside source close to the selection committee, was based upon players'
performance during pre-tournament play and also determined by the gaps that
needed filling in Tyr's lineup.
And now, without further ado... this year's QC All-Stars:
From the Tyr Protectors:
- Garner (Center) - The unanimous choice for QC
All-Star captain and MVP of the pre-MWC tournament, Garner looks to lead the
team on both ends of the field. A great motivator and an all-around solid
footballer.
- Chadwick (Forward) - An explosive scorer, as shown by his hat
trick against Covenant in the pre-MWC tourney. An integral
part of the Tyr offensive attack, can do it all by himself when he's really
"feeling it".
- Garner (Striker) - This year's QC Tourney
"Rookie of the Year" brings youth and fresh legs to a mostly veteran squad.
Brought up from the Crows' Bridge Division II team, is star-struck from all
the kingdom-wide press coverage, but becomes all business when he steps
on the field.
- Aethelwulf (Forward)
- Cormac (Forward)
- Conlan (Goalkeeper)
- Aethelweard (Midfielder)
- Brady (Midfielder)
- Donagh (Midfielder)
- Baron (Fullback)
- Nealon (Fullback)
- Cillian (Fullback)
- Beald (Utility Forward)
- Alyce (Utility Defender)
From the Madrigal Freemen:
- Brady (Goalkeeper) - Solid goaltender in all aspects of the game...
a one man defense force. More than an able backup to the Tyr
goalie, Conlan. Hailed as one of the "greatest technicians of all time".
- Duncan (Midfielder) - Legendary toughness and
usefulness in battle make Duncan a valuable addition to the QC All-Stars'
lineup. A decorated veteran of the Great War, Duncan holds over 23 confirmed
kills, including 2 fetch and a trow.
From the Covenant Campaigners:
- McCarthy (Fullback) - A utility defender with
exceptional speed. Very intelligent and an excellent command of defensive
strategy. Good with the sword if it comes down to it. A tough and
aggressive player.
- Emdee (Forward) - Effective "field general". Recognizes offensive flow
and distributes the ball well to the proper scoring threat.
From the Scales Stalwarts:
- Farrell (Forward) - A solid second-liner with
excellent instincts for directing the offensive attack, and an innate passing
ability, especially from deep in the zone. A consummate team player.
- Garwin (Center) - Recognized for his impressive
comeback from serious injury and his past experience in inter-province play.
Highly intelligent offensive player with a flair for the dramatic.
The Quad-Cities All-Stars will open against The Wicked Wisps next week at
Stoneheim Memorial Coliseum in the qualifying rounds of the MWC. As
always, stay tuned to the official MWC website for all the latest scores and
highlights!
