- Background - Childhood: Valerie was born during Hurricane Season, and the ranchers of the southern plains often said this was the reason she was a 'hellcat', a 'human tornado', a 'wildfire'. But it was always said with affection as she truly was the darling of the county, always ready to lend a hand when needed, ready for any adventure, boundless energy, and a laugh which made even grouchy 'Red' Franklin Sharp smile and ruffle her curls. She had many would-be beaux, but not one who could pin her down, she simply moved faster than they could keep up with. She could usually be found on her Arabian named Tamarak, tearing at break-neck speed where ever she was headed. It was her love of speed and risk which made her embrace flying, starting out in the family's Beechcraft prop which was favored by ranchers for the leisurely pace it held, allowing them to survey their land holdings and stock. But it wasn't long before she was graduating to jet crafts and beyond. And she was an excellent pilot, instinctive, skilled, and uncanny in her ability to navigate in tight or dangerous spots. But when she wasn't going warp 20 with her hair on fire, her parents knew she would be out on the desert, laying on a blanket and gazing at the stars, hoping, wishing, longing. It was no surprise to anyone that she signed up for Starfleet as soon as she met the age requirement, and entered the pilot's program.

everyone moves quickly, she has remained to stay one step ahead. She
loves to return to the Texas desert with Tamarak via the holodeck, and
stare at the star sprinkled night sky. She is quite athletic,
enjoying baseball, mountain climbing, riding, swimming, well ...
anything that is exhausting, challenging, dangerous, and exciting.
She hates Country music, but does enjoy listening to Classical music for
some odd reason, go figure. Levi jeans are her favorite attire, no
surprise there. Has a tendency to always be in trouble, her fault or
not, it just seems attracted to her like a magnet. She is an
unrepentant dare-devil, worried her parents to death, scared the bejesus
out of more than one Flight Instructor, and was considered the terror of
the Starfleet Academy.
Val embraces life with a bear hug. She finds the humor in everything and considers dreary people wearisome. She is attracted to people of strength, especially ones who seem to have the guts to hang in there when the going gets tough. She is hard-headed, an able arguer, stubborn as a mule, and gets decidedly bowed up at anyone who chides her on being short or a blonde. - Hobbies and Interests: Ice cream in obscene amounts, flying, horses, mountain climbing, marksmanship.
