Henry Hicks, born Feb. 2, 1804 in Campbell Co., Va.

He remained in the county of his birth until he was 24 years old, when he moved to Indiana.

He lived there 5 years and returned to Va., lived in Virginia 18 years then spent 5 years in Indiana again in Putnam Co. In 1856 he moved to Carrol Co., MO and settled on sect 11 in Stokes Mound township, where he has since remained. He owns 280 acres of well improved land, with a comfortable house and a fine orchard of eighty trees.

Mr. Hicks was married in 1831 to Miss. Elizabeth Landers, of Putnam Co., Indiana.

They have had born to them 13 children, six of whom are still living;
