James Hix b. ca 1822 in VA married Louisa ? b. ca 1823 in KY.

Their child listed on 1850 Ray Co. MO census as:

America J. b. 5-1850 in MO. America is listed as 5/12 at the time of the census taken in Aug. of 1850.

America J. Hix married Martin Beals(spelled Bayle on marriage license) in 2-14-1867 in Harrison Co., MO.

We know that she had a grandmother named Elizabeth Spurgin as she is listed as an heir in 1877,
her mother was already deceased at this time. We have no other info on America except that she and  Martin had two children :

  1. James David Beals b 4-17-1868 in Bethany Harrison Co. MO .
  2.John William Beals b. 11-16-1869 in Coffeyburg, MO.

It is reported that America died shortly after giving birth to John W. Hix
I don't know if this is true since I have not been able to locate any cemetary or death records of her.
