1980 Movie: "Tom Horn"
Character: Rustler
Costars: Steve McQueen, Richard Farnsworth, Slim Pickens
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Steve McQueen doesn't give a great performance in his next-to-last motion picture, about the last days of a real-life Wyoming bounty hunter, nor does director William Wiard craft a memorable Western."
Comments: None so far.

1980 Movie: "Stir Crazy"
Character: Guard #8
Costars: Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 1/2 out of 5.  "Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder work something close to a miracle, making something out of nothing or, at least, close to nothing.  It's a simpleminded spoof of crime and prison movies with, of all things, a little Urban Cowboy thrown in.  Buy you have so much fun watching the stars, you don't mind."

1982 Movie: "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas"
Character: Henry
Costars: Dolly Parton, Burt Reynolds
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds in a so-so version of the Broadway play, whose title explains all."
Comments: None so far.

1983 Movie: "The King of Comedy"
Character: Guy on Street
Costars: Robert DeNiro, Jerry Lewis
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 4 out of 5.  "This is certainly one of the most unusual movies of all time, a sort of black-comedy variation of creator Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.  The star of that film, Robert DeNiro, stars as aspiring comic Rupert Pupkin.  In order to get his big break on television, Pupkin kidnaps a talk show host."

1983 Movie: "National Lampoon's Vacation"
Character: Mechanic
Costars: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Anthony Michael Hall
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) goes on a disastrous vacation with his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and kids, Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall) and Audrey (Dana Barron)."

1984 Movie: "Starman"
Character: Truck Driver
Costars: Jeff Bridges, Karen Allen, Charles Martin Smith
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 4 out of 5.  "Jeff Bridges stars as an alien who falls in love with Earthling Karen Allen.  Starman is best described as a fairy tale for adults, but the kiddies undoubtedly will enjoy it, too."
Comments: None so far.

1986 Movie: "Welcome to 18"
Character: Harper
Costars: Courtney Thorne-Smith, Mariska Hargitay
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "This low-budget film's only point of interest is that it marks the big-screen debut of Mariska Hargitay, the daughter of Jayne Mansfield."
Comments: None so far.

1987 Movie: "Talking Walls"
Alternate Title: "Motel Vacancy"
Character: Unknown
Costars: Stephen Shellan, Barry Primus, Sally Kirkland
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "Offbeat, mildly interesting comedy-drama about a student who decides to do his thesis on sexual relationships by videotaping unwitting guests as they cavort in a sleazy Hollywood motel."
Comments: None so far.

1987 Movie: "Hunters Blood"
Character: Wash Pot
Costars: Sam Bottoms, Kim Delaney, Clu Gulager
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "Deliverance, but without any of that film's tension or acting."
Comments: None so far.

1987 Movie: "Extreme Prejudice"
Character: Luke
Costars: Michael Ironside, Nick Nolte, Powers Boothe
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 4 out of 5.  "Nick Nolte is in peak form in this modern-day Western as a two-fisted Texas Ranger whose boyhood friend, Powers Boothe, has become a drug kingpin across the border in Mexico.  The federal government sends six high-tech agents to nail Booth with 'extreme prejudice'."
Comments: Does speaking in a monotone denote 'peak form'? Nolte and Boothe are beyond boring, but the sub-plot involving Ironside and his commando team was great, especially on first-viewing when the intricacies of their machinations came together. This role also gave Ironside the chance to play several different 'types' as he assumes various short-term undercover guises.  Well worth checking out.  Mickey plays a small-time drug-runner, who has the misfortune to run afowl of Ironside and associates.

1987 Movie: "Nadine"
Character: Floyd
Costars: Jeff Bridges, Glenne Headley, Kim Basinger
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "A cute caper comedy.  Kim Basinger is a not-so-bright hairdresser who finds herself involved in murder and mayhem.  She enlists the aid of her estranged husband (Jeff Bridges).  Rip Torn gives a fine performance as the chief villain."

1988 Movie: "It Takes Two"
Character: Unknown
Costars: George Newbern, Leslie Hope
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "This young boy's fantasy features George Newbern as a reluctant bridegroom who has an affair with a fast car and a hot blonde car dealer.  Only teens may fully appreciate this trite sex comedy."

1988 Movie: "The Couch Trip"
Character: Watkins
Costars: Dan Ackroyd, Donna Dixon, Walter Matthau
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Dan Ackroyd and Walter Matthau offer a few moments of mirth in this middling comedy about a computer hacker (Ackroyd) who escapes from a mental institution and becomes a hugely successful media shrink.  Charles Grodin is exceptional as the neurotic radio-doctor Ackroyd replaces, and Mary Gross has some terrific scenes as Grodin's wacky wife."

1989 Movie: "Dead-Bang"
Character: Sleepy
Costars: Don Johnson, Penelope Ann Miller, Tim Reid
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 1/2 out of 5.  "Don Johnson stars as real-life detective Jerry Buck, whose investigation into the murder of a police officer leads to the discovery of a chilling conspiracy.  Johnson's strong performance is supported by an excellent cast.  John Frankenheimer directs with authority and adds texture to the familiar plot."
Comments: None so far.

1989 Movie: "Homer and Eddie"
Character: Man In Pizza Parlour
Costars: Whoopi Goldberg, James Belushi, Karen Black
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Outstanding performance by James Belushi as a retarded man trying to return to his dying father despite the fact that his father has disowned him.  Whoopi Goldberg plays a sociopathic woman who gives Belushi the ride of a lifetime."
Comments: None so far.

1990 Movie: "Total Recall"
Character: Miner
Costars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Ironside, Sharon Stone
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 4 1/2 out of 5.  "Arnold Schwarzenegger flexes plenty of action-movie muscle in this terrific sci-fi adventure.  The film has impressive bloodlines: it's adapted from a short story by Philip K. Dick (who also inspired Blade Runner), with a screenplay from the Alien creators, and direction by the creator of Robocop.  A thrill-a-minute futuristic tale."
Comments: Arnold is a happily married construction worker.  Or is he?  He begins to suspect that he may have led another life, and takes a trip to Mars to find out.  Excellent script keeps you guessing -  which of Arnold's lives is the real one?  A must-see performance by Ironside as well... and he purportedly based this character on Mr. Tyler.  Mickey has a small role as a commuter.

1991 Movie: "Pyrates"
Character: Wisconsin Del
Costars: Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "Real-life husband-and-wife Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick play a couple who ignite sparks whenever they have sex, setting fires.  Too bad they couldn't turn up the heat in this one-joke effort."
Comments: None so far.

1991 Movie: "Dutch"
Character: Truck Driver
Costars: Ed O'Neill, Jobeth Williams, Ethan Randall
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Dutch Dooley (Ed O'Neill) agrees to what seems like a simple task: picking up his girlfriend's son from an Atlanta boarding school and driving him home to Chicago.  Written by John Hughes; isn't quite Planes, Trains, and Automobiles."

1992 Movie: "Out On A Limb"
Character: Virgil
Costars: Matthew Broderick, Heidi Kling, Marian Mercer
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "There are few laughs in this comedy about a corporate executive (Matthew Broderick) who has a disaster-fraught journey from the big city to his rural hometown.  The rest of the cast seems to be struggling to ignore how ridiculous the whole thing is."
Comments: None so far.

1992 Movie: "Black Ice"
Character: Lloyd Carter
Costars: Michael Ironside, Michael Nouri, Joanne Pacula
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "When mystery woman Joanne Pacula drops by for her usual rendezvous with a married politician, things get out of hand and he dies.  Low-impact thriller."

1993 Movie: "Mardi Gras For The Devil"
Character: Bartender
Costars: Michael Ironside, Robert Davi, Lesley-Anne Down
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Twenty years after his father was killed, a cop finds that the murderer, who rips his victim's hearts out, is after him.  Unfortunately, the killer is the devil, who just may be unstoppable.  Don't even try to find a plot."

Character: Spittin' Sam
Costars: Jim Varney, Erika Eleniak, Cloris Leachman
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "It's scary how much Cloris Leachman looks and sounds like Irene Ryan's Granny in this big screen version of the backwoods Clampett family's invasion of Beverly Hills.  Featuring good work from Jim Varney, Lily Tomlin, and Dabney Coleman, it's fun for adults who fondly remember the series and kids looking for a silly laugh."

1994 Movie: "Bolt"

1994 Movie: "Drop Zone"
Character: Deuce
Costars: Wesley Snipes, Gary Busey, Yancy Butler
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 1/2 out of 5.  "When brothers Wesley Snipes and Malcolm Jamal-Warner are assigned by their superiors at U.S. marshall headquarters to guard an important witness, they are caught off guard by a midair kidnapping of their charge -- with deadly consequences.  The government writes the witness off as dead and puts the blame on the brothers, but Snipes knows better and goes renegade in order to prove their innocence.  Plenty of action and spectacular stunts, as well as a typically commanding performance by its star, make this one a winner."
