Theatrical Releases

1978
Movie: "Go Tell The Spartans"
Character: Captain Olivetti
Costars:  Burt Lancaster, Craig Wasson
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 4 out of 5.  "In one of the best Vietnam war films, Burt Lancaster is a
commander who begins to wonder "what we're doing over there".  It's a very honest portrayal of America's early days in Vietnam, with Lancaster giving an excellent performance."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1982
Movie: "The Beastmaster"
Character: Dar
Costars:  Tanya Roberts, John Amos
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 1/2 out of 5.  "A young medieval warrior (Marc Singer) who possesses the ability to communicate psychically with animals takes revenge - with the help of a slave (Tanya Roberts) and a master warrior (John Amos) - on the evil sorcerer (Rip Torn).  It's fun for kids of all ages."
My Comments: Marc Singer shows off his svelte physique (for those of you who like that sort of thing <g>) and is convincing with the animals - he has an even rapport with them despite the fact that he was actually injured during filming.  The film sometimes takes itself too seriously, but overall a very good entry into the genre.
Your Comments: F. Colbert says: This film has to be the best that I have ever seen in which Marc Singer portrays a character.  The scenes with the animals are absolutely wonderful, and he is convincing in his role.  His showing "off his svelte physique," as you so eloquently state it, does not hurt the film in the
least.

1982
Movie: "If You Could See What I Hear"
Character: Tom Sullivan
Costars:  R.H. Thompson, Shari Belafonte
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "The film is supposedly the biography of blind singer-composer Tom Sullivan.  You'd have to be not only blind but deaf and, most of all, dumb to appreciate this film."

Comments: Jennifer says:  I loved and still do love to this day the Tom Sullivan
story; I read the book on the original man and thought he portrayed the
character clearly and with heart.  Scott adds:  I have not seen this movie in years, and yet there is something sadly and sweetly haunting about it.  I laughed and cried and through it all became a true fan of this story because Marc Singer brought this wonderful man to life on the screen.  I have spent an enormous amount of time and energy trying to find a copy of this wonderful movie but alas I think it must be out of print.  Well, I at least have the memory of this lovely saga.

Movie: "Watchers II"
Character: Paul Ferguson
Costars:  Tracy Scoggins, Mary Woronov
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Huge fun for animal lovers, as a computer literate dog aids a hapless couple in thwarting the activities of a murderous runaway biological experiment, reminiscent of Ridley Scott's Alien.  Littered with classic horror homage, including a climax under L.A.'s storm drains."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.  "V" costar Michael Ironside starred in the first film, "Watchers", in 1989.

1991
Movie: "Dead Space"
Character: Krieger
Costars: Laura Tate, Bryan Cranston

My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1991
Movie: "Beastmaster II: Through the Portal of Time"
Character: Dar
Costars: Kari Wuhrer, Wings Hauser
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 1/2 out of 5.  "The Beastmaster (Marc Singer) travels through a hole in time to present-day Los Angeles in order to chase down his evil nemesis.  More than just another stranger-in-a-strange-land tale, this film will please fans of the genre as well as those who just like a good laugh."
My Comments: My favourite of the series.  The Beastmaster's gone blonde in this one (too much time in the sun?) and the situation is taken more for laughs than the first installment.  Sliders Kari Wuhrer does a fine job instructing Singer in the things he needs to know - like what rock and roll is.  I liked the segments with Wuhrer and Singer in The Beastmaster's world as much as the L.A. segments.

1991
Movie: "Ultimate Desires"
Character: Jonathan Sullivan
Costars: Tracy Scoggins, Brion James
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "A public defender poses as a prostitute to solve a murder mystery.  Low-budget time-waster with an overdose of sleaze."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1991
Movie: "The Berlin Conspiracy"
Character: Harry Spangler
Costars: Mary Crosby, Stephen Davies
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "Separate American and East German investigations into germ warfare and Middle East terrorism are hindered by the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Bland performances and bad German accents diminish this low budget thriller."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1992
Movie: "Sweet Justice"
Character: Steve Colton
Costars: Finn Carter, Kathleen Kinmont
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "Women vigilantes battle small-town gangsters.  Not to be taken
seriously - the cast certainly didn't."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1992
Movie: "The Greatest Adventure Stories From The Bible: The Creation"
Character: Adam (voice)
Costars: Animated.  Tim Curry, Stephanie Zimbalist
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: Charles says: Typical limited Hanna-Barbera animation.  Marc, or his voice, doesn't even show up until halfway through the episode.  On top of that, the majority of his voice acting is so generic, you'd be hard pressed to tell it was him.  I much preferred him in the Batman cartoons he did.

1994
Movie: "Silk Degrees"
Character: Baker
Costars: Michael DesBarres, Mark Hamill
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "A TV star is being stalked by a terrorist, and it's up to two
federal agents to keep him from discovering her whereabouts."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1994
Movie: "Savate"
Alternate Title: "The Fighter"
Character: Ziegfield
Costars: Ian Ziering, James Brolin
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Here's an oddity - a post-Civil War, kickboxing rip-off of The Quick and the Dead.  An expatriate French soldier competes in a series of battles to help good citizens retain the rights to their two-bit town.  Aside from the exotic fighting style, everything else about this film is borrowed -
most notably the soundtrack, which should prompt a lawsuit from composer Ennio Morricone."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1994
Movie: "Victim of Desire"
Character: Peter Starky
Costars: Shannon Tweed, Wings Hauser
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "You, dear reader, will be the victim of boredom viewing this snoozer about a G-man framed for the murder of an embezzler he's investigating."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1995
Movie: "Cyberzone"
Alternate Title: "Phoenix 2"
Character: Jack Ford
Costars: Matthias Hues, Kin Shriner
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Sporadically effective Blade Runner rip-off about a twenty-first century bounty hunter searching for four female 'pleasure droids' hijacked by a corporate mogul.  The movie's offbeat combination of titillation and low-rent sci-fi is undeniably cheesy but nonetheless entertaining."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1995
Movie: "Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus"
Character: Dar
Costars: Casper VanDien, Tony Todd, David Warner
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Lamely choreographed fight scenes weaken an already marginal film, but Marc Singer, as The Beastmaster, wins us over with his ease around the animals and his wry wit.  This time he must save his brother from an evil lord who has ghastly ambitions.  Decent special effects and above-par soundtrack by Jan Hammer (of Miami Vice fame)."
My Comments: The least entertaining of the series - Singer looks like he may be getting a little too old for this sort of thing, and some of the special effects and monsters are in the Doctor Who category.  Lesley Anne Down does a good comedic turn as a 'witch' with magical powers who ends up aiding the Beastmaster.

1996

Character: Mike Justus
Costars: Steve Railsback, Kim Lankford

1997
Movie: "Lancelot: Guardian of Time"
Character: Lancelot
Costars: John Saxon, Claudia Christian
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: SShryevrt says:  I enjoyed this movie.  It for one had not only Marc Singer, it also starred Babylon 5's Claudia Christian and  John Saxon . Lancelot (Singer) is sent on a mission by Merlin to rescue a young squire that is in the hands of Wolvencraft (Saxon) the sorcerer, who brings the boy to present day L.A.   The young squire is actually King Arthur as a young boy. In the course of the story Claudia's character meets, and of course, thinks Lancelot is a flake, at first...  however she ends up as his "interest"  in the end.
