1987
Movie: "Big Bad Mama II"
Character: Jordan Crawford
Costars:  Angie Dickinson, Robert Culp, Danielle Brisebois
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review:  Turkey.  "A shabby sequel to a so-so movie."
My Comments: OK, so this is a B-movie with the usual B-movie problems -- bad dialogue, cheezy fight scenes, gratuitous nudity and violence.  But if you are a Jeff Yagher fan, it's a must see.  Not only is he actually in the entire movie, but it's also pretty fun to watch.  I won't say anymore because if I do, it'll just be drooling. :)

1989
Movie: "Shag: The Movie"
Character: Jimmy Valentine
Costars:  Phoebe Cates, Annabeth Gish, Bridget Fonda
GMR Rating: 3 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review:  3 1/2 out of 5.  "This appealing film didn't get a fair shake on the big screen, which was surprising, considering the delightful cast and valid performances.  It's set in Myrtle Beach, SC circa 1963, and chronicles a last fling by a covey of Southern belles before their society debut takes them away from the realities of their age.  The title, incidentally, connotes a popular dance style."
My Comments: An enjoyable film, mostly because of the great performances by the leads.  The film focuses on Phoebe Cates uptight 'Carson', when I felt more time should have been spent on Annabeth Gish's insecure "Pudge" and  Bridget Fonda's wild spirited 'Melaina'.  Jeff plays a cocky teen idol whom Fonda uses as a stepping stone to a Hollywood career.  Well worth checking out.

1991
Movie: "No Secrets"
Character: Michael
Costars:  Adam Coleman Howard, Amy Locane
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review:  Turkey.  "Silly teen fantasy features three wealthy girls vacationing at a  remote ranch. When a psychotic drifter joins them, each girl finds his antisocial behaviour irresistible.   Senseless time waster."
My Comments: Well, I wouldn't say it's quite a 'turkey', but it definitely stretches plausibility to the extreme.  The girls, the oldest looking high-school students I've seen outside of Beverly Hills, 90210, are your stereotypical Hollywood inventions: a shy 'plain Jane', an extroverted tease, and a 'rebel'.  Their fascination with the stranger at their cabin cannot be explained.   Jeff has a small role as the brother of one of the girls.  (He looks marvellous, by the way).  <g>

1991
Movie: "Lower Level"
Character: Craig
Costars:  David Bradley, Elizabeth Gracen
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "A psychotic security guard manipulates elevators, doors, and alarms to set up the perfect date with his object of obsession.  Surprisingly watchable."
My Comments: Once you get past the first twenty minutes, this is an excellent film.  If this were the usual Hollywood schlock, the heroine would have to wait for the hero to save her.  No need here - this heroine is well able to take care of herself.  Jeff plays the heroine's boyfriend - who does his best to help out when not being beaten by the bad guy.  Run to the video store and rent this film!!

1996
Movie: "My Fellow Americans"
Character: Secret Service Agent Ralph Fleming / "Dorothy"
Costars:  Jack Lemmon, James Garner, Lauren Bacall
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: When a former President (Jack Lemmon) is framed for taking a kickback, another former Prez comes to his aid, even though they have been bitter enemies for 30 years.  Amusing film filled with endless one-liners and put-downs.  Yagher plays a Secret Service agent whom the Presidents meet at a Gay Pride parade, while he is marching in an  'All Dorothy Band" - that's the Wizard of Oz's 'Dorothy'!  Worth the rental just to hear Lemmon and Garner's lyrics to 'Hail to the Chief'.
Your Comments: I couldn’t believe the first time I saw it that that was Jeff Yagher in a dress!!!! Worth seeing the film just for that!!! The film tells the tale about two ex-presidents who start off hating each other and over a series of adventures come to be tenuous friends.  Jeff is brilliant as the gay-Dorothy look-alike and even though he isn’t in the film for long it’s an absolute hoot seeing him.  Thanks to David for the review!

1998
Movie: "The Pandora Project"
Character: Unknown
Costars:  Daniel Baldwin, Richard Tyson, Erika Eleniak
My Comments: This is a pretty sad excuse for an action flick.  Richard Tyson does a nice over-the-top bad guy; Daniel Baldwin mostly just looks tired.  Jeff has a very brief role as Erika's flamboyantly gay director at a TV news station.

Made For Television Movies

1986
Movie: "Agatha Christie's 'Dead Mans Folly'"
Character: Eddie South
Costars: Peter Ustinov, Jean Stapleton, Nicolette Sheridan
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: It was an excellent modernization of the Agatha Christie novel.  As I recall, Jeff's character was a bit of a golddigger, visiting his wealthy cousin when a murder takes place.  Naturally all the characters are suspects, but the cousin points the finger at Jeff.  Decent movie and good acting by Jeff.  Thanks to Sherry for the review!

1989
Movie: "Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman"
Character: Jim Goldman
Costars: Lee Majors, Lindsay Wagner, Sandra Bullock
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: OK, I admit it ... the only reason I watched this was for Jeff Yagher.  A pre-stardom Sandra Bullock played a new generation of Bionic person (she was in a wheelchair as I recall) and Jeff was Oscar Goldman's relative (son? nephew?).  I remember that Jeff looked great - but I can't remember anything of the plot!
Your Comments:  David says:  This film makes me squirm every time I see it !!! I feel extremely sorry for all involved in this film especially Jeff and the very young Sandra Bullock.   Basically Sandra plays a young paraplegic girl who is given the chance to be a new OSI operative.  She, along with the original ‘Six Million Dollar Man’, Lee Majors and ‘The Bionic Woman’, Lindsay Wagner, uncover a plot at the Olympics.  Jeff Yagher plays Sandra’s ‘would be’ boy friend who, in the course of the film, pretends to be a paraplegic himself so he can help uncover the plot.  The film is quite entertaining, I suppose, it’s just so embarrassing to watch some very accomplished actors having to read such an awful script.  Thank god they weren’t put through the agony of the sequels!!!!

1993
Movie: "Mother of the Bride"
Character: Unknown
Costars: Rue McClanahan, Kristy McNicol, Anne Bobby
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

Your Comments: Nina says:  The Mother of the Bride  focused on one of the daughter's getting married and the 2 sub plots were the death of the father/first husband and Kristy MacNicol's character - the ex-nun, having her first relationship with Jeff Yagher.  He plays a motorcycle tough (with about a day's worth of stubble that looks weird on his baby cute face) who romances Kristy MacNicol. They were a side-storyline.

1994
Movie: "One of Her Own"
Character: Officer Heller
Costars: Lori Loughlin, Greg Evigan
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: Above average TV Movie - Lori Loughlin plays a rookie cop who is raped by a fellow officer (Evigan). At first she does not report the incident, and when she does, no one believes her.  Generally    predictable but very well acted - Evigan portrays a convincing slimeball (hey, who remembers him from "BJ and the Bear"?!).

1994
Movie: "Madonna: Innocence Lost"
Character: Paul
Costars: Terumi Matthews, Wendie Malick, Diana Leblanc
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "So-so telling of the phenomenally successful pop star's life features a dead on performance by Terumi Matthews as Madonna but is sabotaged by a hokey script and cliched dialogue."
My Comments: The VMG rating above is pretty well spot-on.  Terumi Matthews does a great job as Madonna, conniving and sleeping her way to success.  Jeff plays one of the many men (and women) whom Madonna manipulates to get to the top.  He appears in the middle third of the movie, and is quite convincing.  For those that are keeping score, he looks fab in this one too.

1996
Movie: "A Kidnapping in the Family"
Character: Unknown
Costars: Tracey Gold, Kate Jackson
GMR/VMG Rating and Review: Not Listed
My Comments: Far superior to most TV movies.  Tracey Gold is a fast living teen with a young son --  when Jackson criticizes her once too often, Gold takes her son and moves out.  She makes a play for Yagher initially only to provide herself and her son with stability, but ends up falling in love with him.   When Jackson realizes that she cannot control Gold and the boy any longer, she concocts an elaborate scheme involving her daughter in a Satanic cult.  When this fails, she kidnaps the boy.

1992
TV Show: "Room For Two"
Character: Keith Wyman
Costars: Andrew Prine, Linda Lavin, John Putch, Patricia Heaton
# of Episodes: 24 + 1 unaired (Aired March 24, 1992 to July 06, 1993)
Comments: Josh sent in this review:  I never liked the original boyfriend, and loved the chemistry Keith brought to the show.  It was one of his better hair shows.  He was totally arrogant, but with a reason... he knew everyone in the music biz, and women were always trying to use him to get to them.  The original stars of the show were Linda Lavin and Patricia Heaton (Jill).  Jill, of course, hated Keith when he just took what he wanted, including her.  She fought him off, until she found out it was all an act, and that he gave a lot of his money to charities.  After their final fight together, they started kissing, and the next shot was of a barechested Keith in bed with Jill the next morning.  Unfortunately, that was the end of the series.

Comments: Wow!  I was impressed.  Not only is this virtually a half-hour of pure Jeff, he also does a fabulous job at portraying Elvis.  The plot revolves around an Elvis impersonator who hates the 'Vegas sell-out' that Elvis became.  When he is sent back in time, he accidentally kills Elvis and takes his place as The King.  Very well acted.  Many many thanks to Nina for sending me her copy of the show!
