V: The Series -- The Characters "Mike Donovan"

Mike Donovan is the son of Eleanor Dupres, whose husband (Mike's stepfather) was a wealthy factory owner. During the First Invasion, Mike worked as a freelance reporter and was covering the revolution in El Salvador when the first Motherships appeared. Donovan was one of the first humans allowed access to the Visitor ships, and it was he who first discovered the truth of their reptilian appearance. Donovan joined the LA Resistance and, working with Julie, orchestrated the raid on the hospital that exposed John on National Television. Mike was instrumental in developing the hot air balloon dispersal of red dust toxin that forced the Visitors to leave Earth, even though it meant deceiving his son Sean, a Visitor pawn.
Mike remains involved in the Resistance movement during the Second Invasion. Desperately trying to regain his son Sean from Diana's clutches, he also works to disrupt Visitor activities wherever possible.
