THE CONSTITUTION OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION

ПРЕАМБУЛА

PREAMBLE

Мы, многонациональный народ Российской Федерации, соединённые общей судьбой на своей земле,

We, the multinational people of the Russian Federation, united by a common destiny on our land,

утверждая права и свободы человека, гражданский мир и согласие,

asserting human rights and liberties, civil peace and accord,

сохраняя исторически сложившееся государственное единство, исходя из общепризнанных принципов равноправия и самоопределения народов,

preserving the historic unity of the state, proceeding from the commonly recognized principles of equality and self-determination of the peoples,

чтя память предков, передавших нам любовь и уважение к Отечеству, веру в добро и справедливость,

honoring the memory of our ancestors, who have passed on to us love of and respect for our homeland and faith in good and justice,

возрождая суверенную государственность России и утверждая незыблемость её демократической основы,

reviving the sovereign statehood of Russia and asserting its immutable democratic foundations,

стремясь обеспечить благополучие и процветание России,

striving to secure the wellbeing and prosperity of Russia,

исходя из ответственности за свою Родину перед нынешним и будущими поколениями,

and proceeding from a sense of responsibility for our homeland before the present and future generations,

сознавая себя частью мирового сообщества,

and being aware of ourselves as part of the world community,

принимаем КОНСТИТУЦИЮ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ.

hereby approve the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
