Reasons To Be Happy '96

Each week I add a reason to be happy. Each month I add a link I enjoy. Sort of an exercise in "counting blessings." Hopefully you'll see things that make you happy or remind you of other things that do.

April, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--Thousands of dogs want to be your best friend right now.
• 2nd Week--James Stewart is still alive! (Remember, this was put here in '96.)
• 3rd Week--You can read.
• 4th Week--Christmas is just 9 months away!
• Last Week--Sometimes you just have to laugh!

May, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--Old movies aren't all colorized.
• 2nd Week--Summers are warm.
• 3rd Week--The Grand Canyon is REALLY grand.
• 4th Week--Chocolate chip cookies.
• 5th Week--James Stewart made 79 movies.

June, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--Walt Disney did some pretty neat stuff.
• 2nd Week--When it rains...at least it isn't snow.
• 3rd Week--Marilyn Monroe made 29 movies.
• 4th Week--There are still a couple of optimists out there.
• 5th Week--Trees.
• Last Week (bonus week! Six this time!)--Playing volleyball in a sprinkler with a really big bouncy ball.

July, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--Oregon is very pretty.
• 2nd Week--Bing Crosby came along after recording was possible.
• 3rd Week--Sometimes men don't have fear of commitment.
• 4th Week--Christmas is just 5 months away!
• Last Week--Rogers and Astaire came along after film recording was possible.

August, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--You finally get a chance to relax when you get home after a vacation.
• 2nd Week--Pizza.
• 3rd Week--Texas is very warm, if nothing else.
• 4th Week--Looking out over a city on a clear night is very pretty.
• Last Week--Friends who help you move.

September, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--There are friendly people all over the country, and you see them if you drive across.
• 2nd Week-Good friends getting married
• 3rd Week--The telephone. Isn't there some voice you'd like to hear?
• 4th Week--Three more months to Christmas.
• Last Week-- Missouri is surprisingly pretty.

October, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--At least Fall is warmer than Winter.
• 2nd Week--Disneyland!
• 3rd Week--A long drive in the country is better than therapy.
• 4th Week--Pre-season basketball starts now for those in withdrawl.
• Last Week--Cary Grant made some very enjoyable stuff.

November, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--Christmas movies.
• 2nd Week--Well, cats aren't dogs, but at least they purr.
• 3rd Week--Girl Scout cookies.
• 4th Week--Holiday cheer still exists...and it starts for most people around now.
• Last Week--Thanksgiving!

December, 1996 Reasons To Be Happy

• 1st Week--The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
• 2nd Week--Sports.
• 3rd Week--Christmas preparations!
• 4th Week--Christmas!
• 5th Week--The hopeful feeling that comes with a new year.
