Nightfire

Her past is one of continuous violence. Born of sorcery, created of magic, she was to be the final weapon of destruction against the elves. Escaping this dire future, she grew up hiding in the shadows, surviving in the darkness. Taught at an early age in the art of slight of hand, she was able to live as she did, by the barest of means. Later she was caught in the act of stealing gold off of an elderly woman, who, after dragging this upstart teen to her home, revealed herself to be a lovely woman of sorcery. Twas this woman who taught the youth to harness the arcane powers within. Never one to stay in one place to long, the young drow left the sorceress and soon joined into a mercenary's guild, learning the art of swordsmanship, along with a few additional skills on the side. She was eventually hired by a shrouded man, for an assasination. Finding her target, she sought to take it out, but found instead the tables had turned, for the job turned out to be a trap. Her people, those who had created her, thought to capture this wild spirited warrior. They soon found out differently and the only one to walk away from the area was the one who would always be known as Nightfire.
To gain her trust takes much, but once earned you will have a worthy ally and perhaps, should she let you in close enough, a friend. Her heart is cold, for obvious reasons, she rarely shows compassion or kindness. Having once given her heart, only to have it shattered, she keeps others at a distance now, even more than before. There is one, who is determined to soften her hardened heart, he being Garret Ashbourn. He seeks to heal the damage caused by all that had happend to her, perhaps he may succeed... The future is never clear on such matters.

Sex: Female
Age: True age is uknown, though she appears to be in her early twenties, by human standards. In other words she ain't saying.
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: All I could get from her was a smirk.
Eye Colour: Deep Green, slightly slited pupils
Hair: A firey red-gold, streaked with black, reaching to the middle of her back in length.

Appearance: Her skin has a slight dark-gold tint to it, being a warrior, her build is athletic though not overly muscled. Her firey hair is usually pulled back in either a tail or a single plait, rarely is it seen loose from confinement. Nightfire's dress is the usual, a light chain-mail shirt over a thin white cotton lining, her pants being either black, dark green, or dark brown in color, tucked into black calf-high boots. Along the edges of her face, her upper arms, and down along her spine, are small black and red scales.

Weapons, etc: She carries a sword, steel blade, hilted plainly, sheathed, and strapped to her back. Nightfire also carries a varity of daggers about her person, number unknown as it tends to change on a daily basis. She does carry at least one dagger, of which is hilted in gold, the blade etched with designs of fire, at all times. The blade is of a magical make, by Nightfire herself, its properties only known to her. Worn around her neck is a chain of silver, upon which is attached a pendant of a red and black dragon, with eyes of emeralds. Though the dragon is dark in coloring it seems to glow with a light of its own. This was given to her by Garret Ashbourne, a token of his affections for her.

Arcane abilities: She has the power to infuse weapons with powers of desctruction, though she will not favor just anyone with this service. Unless of course the offered price is high enough. She, being half dragon can take the form of a true red dragon, with all of its dragonic specialties. She also has a pair of crimson tipped leathery wings, like that of a dragon's, upon her back, though she keeps these hidden unless needed.

Present Activities: She frequents Garret's Inn, as he has promised her always a place to stay when needed. Cleansed of the chaotic magic from the spells of the black book, and the affects of them, though she kept the scaling, having grown fond of the affect. She still travels, often alone, needing to escape from time to time, feeling the call of wanderlust strike her.

This fire tempered drow had been hired to assassinate me, though she will not tell me who the being was that wished my demise. Perhaps I shall one day find out, probably after the "client" has already been disposed of. Needless to say she and I are allies now, we both watch out for each other. I had seen her attraction to my father and thought them a good match, though it has turned out differently, and I watched as Nightfire fell into insanity, her contained powers choosing the moment of weakness within her at the time of separation to lash out against her. With the help of a friend, Garret Ashbourne, and after speaking with Riptide himself, Nightfire was able to fight her way back to sanity, gaining control over the loose magicks within her. I dare to hope this will not happen again, for Nightfire in her normal state of mind is dangerous enough, with her out of control, she is a danger to all, even herself.
