The art gallery Eikaasgalleriet is located at Ålhus about 10 km east along the northern shore of the lake Joelstravatnet. There you can find a collection of graphic art and paintings by the famous artist Ludvig Eikaas who grew up in Joelster.  The picture above is from the visitor's exhibition in 2001 together with works of other famous artists.

The art gallery Fylkesgalleriet i Sogn og Fjordane is located at the regional centre Foerde, about 15 kilometres to the west. The picture shows the joint work Vindelstige (spiral ladder) from the exhibition Steg (steps) in 2000.

The art gallery Astruptunet. is located in the homeplace of the international famous painter  Nikolai Astrup and contains paintings etc. by the artist.

The museum and art gallery Joelstramuséet is a "trollish" (picturesque) site of traditional farm houses  which contains an exhibitions of art for sale with the possibility of lucky art discoveries as well as old tools and utensils. The museum is located at Vassenden, a fair walk down the slope from Aarseth Hytter.

Foerde Internasjonale Folkemusikkfestival  brings a colourful, well-sounding and enjoyable community to Foerde (15 km).  The festiaval is usually celebrated during the first week of  July every year.
