Make certain not to let first row twist. *Purl next row Knit next row Purl next row Knit next 4 rows* Repeat until you have 4 ridges. Knit the last 4 rows until your hat 5”. Knit additional rows to make it 5 1/2” or longer for a bigger hat. Decrease Rows: First Row: k7 k2 tog across Next Row: knit Next Row: k6 k2 tog across Next Row: knit Next Row: k5 k2 tog across Next Row: knit Next Row: k4 k2 tog across Next Row: knit Next Row: k3 k2 tog across Next Row: knit Next Row: k2 k2 tog across Next Row: K1 K2 tog across Next Row: Knit (This final row is harder to work on but makes a nicer finish. Break yarn and draw through the stitches on your needle. Fasten securely. For a looser hat CO 90 stitches or use a 6.6 mm Circular Needle. Ridge Hat (Shown Above) Begin hat as above. Continue working from * to * until your hat is 5" - 5 1/2 long or desired length. Begin decreasing as above but work so your decrease row is always on a knit row. You will be skipping a purl row so you will need to watch the length of the hat and begin to decrease when it is a bit shorter. Finish as above.
