46.  Contributions to benevolent fund and group insurance.-

An assessee shall be entitled to an allowance in respect of any sum paid, in order to make provision for his spouse or children or other persons dependent on him, to a benevolent fund or any premium paid under a group insurance scheme, if such fund or scheme is approved by the Central Board of Revenue for the purposes of this section.
