When my wife asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I picked Sunday brunch in a Sterling Streamliner. Tucked behind a liquor store on Loring Street, south of downtown Salem, Massachusetts, it was a good choice. We got there five minutes before closing time, but they insisted we sit down and order. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and the eggs benedict were just right. I don't usually order benedict out, but I was pleasantly surprised. Sunday's menu is breakfast-oriented, and the place closes at 1 PM (2 PM Saturdays, 3 PM weekdays. The booths and stools aren't original, but they fit just fine. All but the "G" in "STERLING" is worn from the steel threshold at the entrance, but "DINER" is still legible.
