Making a Sound Suppressor the QB-78.

I was fixing up a QB-78 for a client, I took off the stock, sanded it down with 320 grit sand paper and painted it with gloss black paint with a total of 4 coats of paint.  I used moly grease on the trigger assembly and jacked up the spring on the gas release hammer for more power with 2 washers.  I took my old Dremel and grinded down the bolts locking guide for smoother cocking with a fine stone.   I then scoped it with a 4x15 Chinese scope with coated optics.

When I tested the QB-78 I noticed that it shot very loud, so loud that it would scare anyway any game birds my client would be hunting  from far away.  So I decided to make up a little sound suppressor out of a empty CO2 cartridge. I took my  bench grinder and grinded both ends till I made the right sized holes.  I made one hole just big enough to fit over the barrel and the other hole I made a little smaller to contain the sound, or better said to suppress the sound.   I primed and painted the cartridge gloss black with spray paint.  I took off the original sights and saved them.   I then used two pieces of double side tape (the kind used for hanging small framed photos on the wall) and put them inside on each side of the cartridge and stuck the cartridge (now sound suppressor) half way up the cartridge on the barrel, leaving half of the cartridge empty for suppressing the sound.  The tape is made of foam and thickness of the foam was the right size for a snug fit on the barrel and it really sticks to the barrel.

I then tested the air gun and found that the sound suppressor works and suppresses half of the original sound the air gun made.  Not only that, it looks pretty cool on the air gun, check for your selves.
