I am Anand Kumar Chauhan, currently pursuing MS(Computer Science) at Lamar University, Beaumont TX. I did Masters in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, India. Worked at Motorola, Bangalore, India as Systems Engineer. I am currently working at Dept. of Physics, Lamar University as a Teaching Assistant. I would like to go for PhD. in Computer Science, before I work in the industry for a year or two. I did Graduate project on "Potential Energy Optimization in an aqueous medium using Genetic Algorithms" for Masters degree in Physics. I am currently doing project on Computer Network Analysis using opnet, where I compare TCP/IP and ATM protocols. I am intersted in Computer Architecture, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Systems Programming, PC BIOS, Device Drivers, Process Control Interfacing, and Systems Programming. I have been programming since I was in high school. C++ is my favoutite. I have been programming in it for 12 years. I wrote a process control interface for , Cryogenic Lab, Dept. of Physics India Institute of Technology - Madras India. It was written for an overclocked 100 Mhz 486 DX4 based system. User interface was written in VC++, the core was written in x86 Assembly. I still do troubleshooting for it. I have various TSR's and viruses under the hood for DOS16 system. Before I could leave them to see the world, the Industry had moved to Win32 in 1995, where the VMM addressing scheme changed drastically. I am now almost done with porting them to a Win32 system. I think I have a birds eye view of entire computing system as such, specifices, syntactical, or system dependent details can be aquired as and when needed. I also think that my logical and technical blend of mind helps me to apply the concepts I konw to new situations which are not mentioned in books, hence updating my knowledge base.
