That he became Alaska's direct-hire Fil-foreigner recruit came as a surprise in itself for fans, only because he didn't make much of an impact in a short stint in the PBL and was not really a sought-after commodity among MBA teams.

But the 6-7 slotman somehow proved Alaska didn't waste its direct-hire rights on him. Although not as spectacular as, say, Eric Menk or Danny Seigle, he nonetheless became an integral role player for the Milk Kings - and a project Tim Cone hopes to cash in through the years.
