A Fairy Tale

Once upon a time there was a dragon who had been thrown out of a window by the midwife right after he was born. He looked like a snake, you see. He grew up to be a dragon eventually and married a sucession of women and devoured each and every one of them. But then one day, a woman, even knowing he'd eaten his other brides, asked to marry him.

She convinced him to remove his skin one layer at a time. Every time she asked, he said no one had ever asked him to do that before. Finally, once he peeled of his final layer of thick dragon skin, she could see how damaged he really was, and she scrubbed his body cleaned and healed him. He stood up and was quite a handsome and good man.

And they lived happily ever after.
