Grand events on the coast of Amalfi, crossroads between East and West, a memory of power and glory, of blood and chains, of cultures that admired, encountered and finally united; on the facades of the Churches, in the features of her people....           In the V century chased by Barbarians , groups of Romans barricade themselves in these  easy to defend high places, living by farming and craftsmanship.
Later in calmer times Casanova was initiated , at first little more than an hamlet , home of farmers but the future lay with the sea. In the safety of the fiord, using the water of the torrent Schiato , mills and paper factories were built: Furore was born, universitas "Terra Furoris", and the people became merchants .

          The overseas commerce made the new town florid and it absorbed Casanova ( in the XIII century ) , and new and powerful noble houses arrived on the Amalfitan political scene: Cuomo, Summonte, Porpora,... rich and proud dynasties , as the golden column on an azure background , the important town shield...

          After the Amalfitan glory , in the fiord between high and low moments a certain commerce resisted, in the higher regions agriculture and sheep farming that furnished the precious prime material for craftsmen, "secacorne" ( the bone carvers ) ...

          In the fascist epoch Furore lost her autonomy , first joined to Praiano and then to Conca dei Marini. In the aftermath of the war ((1947) the project of the hotel city, and the open -air museum was born : called the "Painted City".... The adventure of tourism was born...
