W. L. GILBERT CLOCK COMPANY circa 1904

The Wiliam L. Gilbert Clock Company was established at Winsted Connecticut on July 5th 1871. Nearly two years passed before the factory was completed and production commenced.
Between 1897 and 1902, a massive building program took place in which a four story case shop was completed along with office and storage space.

The company narrowly avoided bankruptcy in 1914, but could not survive the Great Depression, and finally closed down in September 1932.
