Pfaff Sewing Machine Company

The Pfaff company was founded by Georg Michael Pfaff in 1862. Georg Pfaff ll took over management of the company after his father's death in 1893 and successfully expanded the business. Georg ll died in 1917, and his sister Lina Pfaff took over the management. Karl Pfaff, grandson of the founder, became manager in 1926 and continued until his unexpected death in 1952.

From 1952, Pfaff was run by a board of managers chaired by Hugo Lind. In 1957, Pfaff took over Gritzner- Kayser, and in 1964, formed a liaison with Janome.

Pfaff continues to manufacture high quality and universally applicable machines to this day.
