My Favorite Layouts
These are some of my favorite scrapbooking layouts. I've
complete 5 full 8-1/2x11" albums and am still going strong. Next on my
scrapbooking agenda are our wedding pictures, and about a year's worth of
home pictures, dating roughly March 2000 through
June 2001.
I just love how these patterned papers worked together for
the background of this layout and for matting. It's hard to see in this scan, but there's white mulberry
paper used between the blue photo mat and the white-background print photo
mat. I had a lot of fun with lettering templates, raffia, and buttons
on this layout. There are four more pages to this event, all in the same
color scheme.
I think simple layouts have the
most impact. The patterned paper mats and the title squares add a nice
geometric feature to this layout. A little hemp cord adds the right dimension to this layout
of pictures from the Fort Worth Stockyards. This layout uses round eyelets and smiley stickers for
interest. Again, I used a template for the title lettering. The shaker box in the upper left of this layout has tiny
silver stars inside. I used lettering templates, computer printing, colored pencils, and
stickers to accent the pictures in these layouts. The white paper isn't printed, it's corrugated. I printed
the script lettering reversed on my computer then cut it out carefully.
Adhered with the printed side to the paper, it looks like this. I hand cut the paper "rick rack" and used some tiny ladybug
stickers on this page. Eventually I have to come up with a title block for this
simple but striking layout. Any suggestions? This two-page spread is one of my favorites. The colors and the
composition just worked out right. This is a good example of how even the
smaller 8-1/2x11" format can hold a lot of pictures on a page. There are "pop dots" behind the parts of the title block. I
got the pieces for this layout in a swap. Bold use of color and pattern fill this page without making
it seem too busy.
