April 2004

We hosted Easter dinner for both sides of the family, which was a lot of fun. Grandma and Grandpa Schierer and Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristin came to stay for the whole weekend, too. We did a bunch of sight-seeing in Philadelphia, too, visiting the Battleship New Jersey, Gino's Steaks, the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall.

Emily's Daisy Scout troop also started their springtime outdoorsy activities with a day-trip to the local Girl Scout camp. They made a craft, had a nice snack and participated in a bunch of nature activities. We were even lucky enough to find a turtle crawling along the path.

Finally, the spring soccer season started. Joe coached Emily's peewee soccer team starting in April and running through mid-June. They're SO cute running around after the ball each Saturday!

Chow Time

The family enjoys a nice big breakfast-brunch on Easter morning.

Thomas Egg!

Matthew was so excited to find the blue egg we decorated with Thomas the Tank Engine.

Princess Hair

I told Emily I was going to style her hair special for Easter. When she saw it in the mirror, she gasped, "Mommy, I have Princess Hair!"

Battleship New Jersey

The family strikes a pose in front of the Battleship New Jersey at the end of our tour. That's Chris hiding in the back there.

Smile!

The kids pose for a second on the deck.

Ding-dong!

A little dark, but a nicely framed picture of the kids, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.

Not Too Sure

Emily definitely wanted her turn holding the turtle, but then she didn't seem like she knew what she was supposed to do with it..

"I Blowin' it!"

Matthew loves reseeding our dandelions for us. Hmmmm.....

Thomas Magazine

"Uncle" Bill sends us lots of goodies from the UK. Matthew looks forward to his new Thomas magazines whenever they come.

Teammates

Emily poses for a second with her teammate, Tanner.
