Welcome to May 2003!
May was a month of erratic weather. We had sun and rain, heat and cold. We spent a day walking the Boardwalk in
Ocean City, and other days bundled up inside the house. Emily's school started having spring field trips,
including one to the Cape May Zoo, which I helped chaperone. Joe wrapped up his spring semester
at the college, completing his third year here, already! Matthew is learning more and more each day.
He asks Emily to play Ring-Around-a-Rosy by saying, "Sissy .. ashes!"
Slinky Head
Uncle John has a great time with the kids.
Here he tries out their keyboard. I believe the
lyrics went something like, "I have a
haa-a-aat. It's white and springy...."

Budding Artist
Emily drew
this picture of our church (complete with
clock tower) on her MagnaDoodle.
|
Footballer!
Emily and Matthew's "Uncle" Bill sent this
great football strip from Scotland.
|
Flower Child
Emily just loves finding "fluffies" in our
yard.
If only, she weren't quite so persistent
about blowing the seeds around!
|
Wheeeee!
It's not much of a slide, but Matthew gets
a big kick
out it, anyway. At least this time
he's going down feet first!
|
ZZzzz-zz-zzz
Emily takes a nap
in our new backyard hammock.
|
Ball!
Wherever this ball gets left
outside, Matthew manages to find it and
throw it around for awhile.
|
Zoo Trip
Emily's class arrive
at the Cape May Zoo.
|
The Gang's All Here
This
is Emily's whole preschool class, with teachers,
at the Cape May Zoo.
|
Partners
Emily and Ashley were partners
on the field trip and had to
stick together at all times.
|
White Beauty
I don't
think I've ever seen albino peacocks before.
These two were absolutely gorgeous.
|
On the Prowl
The kids
were most impressed with this tiger as
he prowled around his cage.
|
Play Time
No zoo would be complete without
a nice big play area.
|
Snacks!
When "Miss Christine" came back with this
popcorn,
she was suddenly everyone's best friend. Emily,
in particular, gobbled it up.
|
Wheeee, again!
This slide, like all slides,
attracted Matthew like a magnet.
|
Just Waiting
Emily waits in the picnic pavilion
until it's time to go.
