May and June 2004

flowers

May and June were busy for us. Joe finished his fourth year at Cumberland County College, I wrapped up a year of subbing. And school ended for the kids, too. This always means school trips and lots of activities. There was a big chicken barbecue picnic for the Millville Soccer Association, too.

We celebrated Matthew's third birthday...Thomas the Tank Engine style! And then we spent a week in Northwestern Pennsylvania with Grandma and Grandpa.

What a start to summer!

Storybook Land

Emily poses by the giant sign of this South Jersey landmark. I went with her class trip to this kiddie land / amusement park.

Ready to Go

Contrary to her expression in this picture, this spinning hot-air balloon ride was far and away Emily's favorite. We went on it three times.

Choo-choo

Emily insisted I get a good picture of the train "for Matthew."

Gulp!

She got a big kick out of this giant whale sculpture.

Wheeeee!

Now you can see the fun she had on this ride!

Three of a Kind

Dressed for church one Sunday, my family shows off their good looks and coordinating outfits.

What is It?

Matthew was especially eager to open anything in Thomas wrapping paper.

"A Bridge!"

He got a great bridge to use with his wooden railway.

Thomas Talking Camera

"Uncle" Bill sent this from England. It's so cute when Matthew runs around snapping pictures, asking everyone to say Cheese!

Happy Birthday!

I had fun decorating this cake. Matthew was SO thrilled to see Thomas.

Pffffffft!

He huffed and puffed for a good five minutes, well after all the candles were completely out.

Sharing

Matthew is the major train kook, but Emily enjoys playing with the engines and tracks almost as much.

Zonked

I caught this peaceful moment of both kids completely out one morning at my folks' house.

Best Buddies

Emily was absolutely thrilled when Grandpa made her a homemade kite and then got it in the air for her. Grandpa looks pretty happy, himself, too.
