Back to School!

books

Over Labor Day weekend, we took the chance for one more quick get-away before school started. We went to the Poconos with our friends, Seth and Margie Miller and their girls Sammie and Evie. We watched movies, climbed on the rocks at Boulder Field and had a great time playing and hanging around.

Around the same time, I finished redecorating Matthew's bedroom, converting it from the Noah's Ark themed nursery to a frog themed little boy's room. I did all the spackling, sanding, priming and painting myself and used an overhead projector to shine the pattern on the wall, so I could trace it with a pencil. The blue and green with rock border in between continue all the way around the room. The rocks I did freehand.

Frog Pond

The famous mural. The linens on the bed and window valance are a neutral khaki color and the carpeting is a deep blue.

Snack Time

The kids enjoy some fruit one morning.

Gotcha!

Margie and I went to Wal-Mart to get some toys and things for the kids. We thought the guys would have fun with this Laser Tag set, but all they did was stand about six feet apart and shoot each other.

Mesmerized

The kids are enjoying Disney's Treasure Planet and a big bowl of popcorn.

Boulder Field

Have to get a pose by the sign, don't we?

Rock Girls

They all had a great time climbing all around on the rocks.

Daddy!

Matthew had a harder time maneuvering on the rocks, but he hung out with Joe and had a ball anyway.

School Days!

The first annual back-to-school posed shot. No, I didn't cry, but I did get a bit sniffly.

Away They Go!

OK, when I saw them walking away in their matching backpacks without a glance back to me, I did get kind of choked up.
