No, don't
look at me
Please ... not
just yet
Why am I
here?
This is
crazy.
No, don't look at
me
Do something
new
And they wait for you to
fail.
Sing something
then,
Anything.
Oh, just
look at me
Scared ... on my
own
Still singing
songs
But it's
lonely
Isnt it
awful?
God how
depressing
Me standing
here
And you there
assessing
I'm so glad I
came
Whenever I feel afraid I hold my head
erect
And whistle a happy
tune
Anyone can
whistle
That's what they
say
Easy
Anyone can whistle any old
day
Easy
It's oh so simple.
Relax, let go, let fly.
Will someone tell me why can't I?
Whistle at a dragon, down it’ll
fall
Easy
Whistle at a hero, trumpets and
all
Easy
What's hard is simple
What's natural comes hard
Maybe you could show me how to let
go

When you feel
in trouble
And you don't
know right from wrong
Give a
little whistle
Give a little
whistle
When you feel
temptation
And the urge is
very strong
Give a little
whistle
Give a little
whistle
Not just a little
squeak
Pucker up and
blow
And if your whistle's
weak yell
Jiminy
Cricket
Take the straight
and narrow path
And if you
start to slide
Give a little
whistle
Give a little
whistle
And always let your
conscience be your guide
When you feel in trouble
And you don't know right from wrong
Give a little whistle
Give a little whistle
When you feel temptation
And the urge is very strong
Give a little whistle
Give a little whistle
Not just a little squeak
Pucker up and blow
And if your whistle's weak
Sing, sing, so
No, Don't
Please look at me now
Here on stage
This is my world
It’s outrageous
Call for the hook
Tonight I can duck it
This is terrific
Scary but fuck it
I'm so glad I came
Sometimes you think you've lived
before
All that you've lived
today
Things you do come
back to you
As if they knew
the way
Oh the tricks the
mind can play
It seems we
stood and talked like this before
We looked at each other the same way then
But I can't remember where or when
The clothes I'm wearing
Are the clothes I wore
The smile I am smiling
I was smiling then
But I can't remember where or when
Some things that happen for the first
time
Seem to be happening
again
And so it seems that
we have lived before
And
laughed before and loved before
But who knows where or when
Some things that happen for the first time
Seem to be happening again
And so it seems that we have lived
before
And laughed before
and loved before
But who
knows where or when
I've been thinking about what I want to share with you this evening. I want to take a journey, a journey through a life. A life that's as complex, as varied, as intriguing as the words and music that surround it. I'm sure that the paths that I'll tread have been well-worn by many others.

Blue, songs
are like tattoos
You know
I've been to see before
Crown and anchor me
Or let me sail away
Hey Blue, here is a song for you
Ink on a pin
Underneath the skin
An empty space to fill in
Well they're so many sinking now
You've got to keep thinking
You can make it thru’ these
waves
Acid, booze, and
ass
Needles, guns, and
grass
Lots of laughs, lots
of laughs
Everybody's saying
hell's the hippest way to go
Well I don't think so
But I'm gonna take a look around it so
Blue, I love you
Blue, there is a shell for you
Inside you'll hear a sigh
A foggy lullaby
There is your song from me
Click
here to listen
It
steals to you softly at night
And echoes around in your brain
So seemingly sweet and polite
A tender and placid refrain
Seductive, delicious it haunts
you
You'll melt as the
melody flows
Repeated,
insisting it taunts you
As
time and again round it goes
Round it goes
Always
it goes
Padam Padam
Padam
It's the voice of the
act you regret
Padam Padam
Padam
You may try but you'll
never forget
Padam Padam
Padam
In your heart feel it
gouging a hole
As it sings
of your guilt
And the lies
you've built
This tune, the
song of your soul
It drags
up the love that you spurned
It dredges up memories you hate
You wear them like chains justly
earned
You stagger and reel
from the weight
You stumble
for ways to defeat it
You
strain to restore your repose
But still in your sleep you'll repeat it
As time and again round it goes
Round it goes
Always it goes
Padam Padam Padam
It's the echo of conscience ignored
Padam Padam Padam
It exposes the fake and the fraud
Padam Padam Padam
All your fears feed it fires like coal
And it shouts of your shame
And it calls your name
This tune, the song of your
soul.
Oh and it's laughing
at all of your pain
And it
knows that you wrote the refrain.
So when Destiny's bell starts to toll
You'll admit that you lost and you paid the
cost
Cry out the song of my
soul
Padam!
Son of the thief
Son of the saint
Who is the child
Without complaint
Son of the brave
Son unknown
This is a child like your own
The same sweet smile
The same sad tears
The cry at night
The nightmare tears
Son of the great
Or son unknown
This is a child like your own
So long ago
Long long ago

Little
Pal
When Daddy goes
away
Promise you'll be
good
From day to
day
Do as Mummy
says
And never
sin
Be the man your Daddy
might have been
Daddy didn't
have an easy start
So here
is the wish that's in my heart
I want you to be
Little Pal
What I
might have been
Little
Pal
I want you to laugh and
to sing and to play
And be
good to Mummy while Daddy's away
I'll pray day and night
Little Pal
That
you'll turn out right
Little
Pal
So till we meet
again
Never knows where or
when
Pray for
me
Now and
then
Little
Pal
The night is
bitter
The stars have lost
their glitter
The wind grows
colder
And suddenly you're
older
And all because of the
man that got away
No more
his eager call
The writing's
on the wall
The dreams you
dreamed have all gone astray
The man that won you
Has run off and undone you
That great beginning has seen a final inning
Don't know what happened.
It's all a crazy game
No more that old time thrill
For you've been through the mill
And never a new love will be the
same
Good
riddance
Goodbye
Every trick
of his you're on to
But
fools will be fools
And
where's he gone to?
The road
gets rougher
It's lonelier
and tougher
With hope you
burn up
Tomorrow he may turn
up
There's just no let
up
The live long night and
day
Ever since this world
began
There's nothing sadder
than
A one man
woman
Looking for the man
that got away
Good
riddance
Goodbye

If you were the
only girl in the world
And I
were the only boy
Nothing
else would matter
In the
world today
We could go on
loving
In the same old
way
A Garden of
Eden
Just made for
two
Nothing will mar
our joy
I could say such
wonderful things to you
There would be such wonderful things to do
If I were the only boy in the world
And you...
The moment you wake up
Before you put on your make-up
I'll say a little prayer for
you
While combing your hair
now
And wondering what dress
you'll wear now
I'll say a
little prayer for you
Forever and ever you'll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever we never will part
Oh how I love you
Together forever
That's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartache for me
I run for the bus dear
While riding I think of us
dear
And I say a little
prayer for you
At work I
just take time
And all
through my coffee break time
I say a little prayer for you
Forever and ever you'll stay in my
heart
And I will love
you
Forever and ever we
never will part
Oh how I
love you
Together
forever
That's how it must
be
To live without
you
Will only be heartache
for me
At night when I'm
lonely
My thoughts are for
you dear, only
And I say a
little prayer for you
The
memories that find me
Keep
coming back to remind me
To
say a little prayer for you
Forever and ever you stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever and ever we never will part
Oh how I loved you
Together forever
That's how it must be
To live without you
Only means heartache for me
So darling believe me
For me there is no one but you

Mother, you
left me but I never left you
I needed you but you didn't need me
So I, I’ve just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye
Father, you had me but I never had you
I wanted you but you didn't want
me
So I, I’ve just got to
tell you
Goodbye,
goodbye
Mother, Father, look
what you've done
I couldn't
walk but I tried to run
So
I, I’ve just got to tell you
Goodbye, Goodbye
Mother, Father
I've got no strings to hold me
down
To make me fret, to
make me frown
I had strings
but now I'm free
There are
no strings on me
I've got no
strings so I have fun
I'm
not tied to anyone
How I
love my liberty
There are no
strings on me
Hi Ho the
merry-o
I'm as happy as can
be
And I want the world to
know
Nothing ever worries
me
I'll build a stairway to
Paradise
Wth a new step
everyday
I'm gonna get there
at any price
Stand aside I'm
on my way
I've got the
blues
And up above is so
fair
Shoes go on and carry
me there
I'll build a
stairway to Paradise
With a
new step everyday
It's
madness to be always sitting around in sadness
When you could be looking the steps of
gladness
You'll be happy
when you can do
Oh just six
or seven
Begin
today
You'll find it
nice
The quickest way to
Paradise
When you
practice
Here's the thing to
do
Simply say as you
go
That I'll build a
stairway to Paradise
With a
new step everyday
And I'm
gonna get there at any price
Stand aside I'm on my way
I got the blues
And
up above is so fair
Shoes
come on and carry me there
I'll build a stairway to Paradise
With a new step everyday

Happy talk

Talk
about thing you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have
A
dream come true?
Talk about
the moon
Floating in the
sky
Looking like a lily on a
lake
Talk about a
bird
Learning how to
fly
Making all the music he
can make
Happy talk keep
talkin' happy talk
Talk
about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have
A
dream come true?
Talk about
a star
Looking like a
toy
Peeking through the
branches of a tree
Talk
about a girl
Talk about a
boy
Counting all the ripples
in the sea
Happy talk keep
talkin' happy talk
Talk
about things you'd like to do
You've got to have a dream
If you don't have a dream
How you gonna have
A

If you
don't talk happy
And you
haven't got a dream
Then
you'll never have
a dream
come true
The best of times is now
What's left of summer but a faded
rose
The best of times is
now
As for
tomorrow
Well...
So hold this
moment fast
And live and
love as hard as you know how
And make this moment last
Because the best of times is now, is now, is now
Now, not some forgotten yesterday
Now, tomorrow is too far
away
So hold this moment
fast
And live and love as
hard as you know how
And
make this moment last
Because the best of times is now, is now, is now
Now, not some forgotten yesterday
Now, tomorrow is too far
away
So hold this moment
fast
And live and love as
hard as you know how
And
make this moment last
Because the best of times is now, is now, is now, is now, is now, is
now, is now
I remember when
I was a very little boy our house burned down. I'll
never Is That All There Is?
forget the look on my mother's face as she gathered
me up in her arms and
carried me through the burning building out on to the pavement. I
stood there
shivering in my
pajamas and watched my whole world go up in flames. And
then I said to myself "Is that all there
is to a fire?"
Is that all
there is?
Is that all there
is?
If that's all there is,
my friends
Then let's keep
dancing
Let's break out the
booze
And have a
ball
If that's all there
is
And years later when I
was 12 years old my mother took me to the circus. The greatest show on
earth - clowns, elephants, dancing bears and a beautiful lady in pink tights who
flew high above our heads. As I sat there watching this marvelous
spectacle, I couldn't halp but feel that something was missing. I didn't know
what it was but when it was over I said to myself "Is that all there is to the
circus?"
Is that all there
is?
Is that all there
is?
If that's all there is,
my friends
Then let's keep
dancing
Let's break out the
booze
And have a
ball
If that's all there
is
I fell in love. Head over
heels in love with this wonderful person in the world. We used to take long
walks along the side of the river. Sit for hours gazing into each other's
eyes. So very much in love. And then one day my love went away. I thought
I would die, and when I didn't, when I didn't, I said to myself "Is that all
there is to love?"
Is that
all there is?
Is that all
there is?
If that's all
there is, my friends
Then
let's keep....
Oh, I know
what your're thinking to yourself. If that's the way he feels about it,
why doesn't he end it all right now.
But no, not me. I'm not ready for the final disappointment.
Because I know, as sure as I'm standing here talking to you, that when the final
moment comes, when I'm breathing my last breath I'll be saying to myself "Is
that all there is?"
Is that
all there is?
Is that all
there is?
If that's all
there is my friends
Then
let's keep dancing
Let's
break out the booze
And have
a ball
If that's all there
is

The
butcher, the baker, the grocer, the clerk
Are secretly unhappy men because
The butcher, the baker, the grocer, the
clerk
Get paid for what they
do, but no applause
They'd
gladly bid their dreary jobs goodbye
For anything theatrical
And why?
There's no
business like showbusiness
Like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing
Everything the traffic will allow
Nowhere can you get that happy
feeling
When you are
stealing that extra bow
There's no people like show people
They smile when they are low
Even with a turkey that you know will
fold
You may be stranded out
in the cold
Still you
wouldn't change it for a sack of gold
Let's go on with the show
The costumes, the scenery, the make-up, the
props
The audience that
lifts you when you're down
The headaches, the heartaches, the backaches, the flops
The sheriff who escorts you out of
town
Oh, the opening when
your heart beats like a drum
The closing when the customers don't come
There's no business like
showbusiness
Like no
business I know
You get word
before the show has started
That your ailing mother died at dawn
Top of that your wife and you just
parted
Oh, you're broken
hearted but you go on
There's no business like
showbusiness
Like no
business I know
Travelling
through the country will be thrilling
Standing out in front on opening night
Smiling as you see the theatre
filling
On and there's your
billing up there in lights
There's no people like show people
We smile when we are low
Yesterday they told you you would not go
far
That night you open and
there you are
Next day on
your dressing room they've hung a star
Let's go on with the show

Let me
sing a
A happy
song
With crazy
words
That roll
along
And if my song can
start you laughing
I'm
happy
Happy!
Let me sing a sad
refrain
A broken heart that
loved in vain,
And if my
song can start you crying
I'm happy
Let me
croon
A low down
tune
To lift you out of your
seat
And if my
song
Can reach your
shoes
And start you tapping
your feet
Sing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
And you'll shoo
the blues away
When cares
pursue ya
Hallelujah
Sees you
through
The darkest
day
Satan lies
a-waitin'
And creatin' skies
of grey
When I got to
Satan's door
I heard you
blowing on your horn once more so
Blow Gabriel, blow
Blow Gabriel, blow
I
want to join your happy band
Let the drums roll out
Let the trumpets call
While the people shout
Strike up the band
Let the symbols ring
Calling one and all
To the martial swing
Strike up the band
There is work to be done to be done
There's a war to be won to be won
Come you son of a gun of a
gun
Take a
stand
Fall in line yeah
boy
Come along lets
go
Hey, leader strike
up
Before the parade passes
by
I'm going to go and
taste
Saturday's
highlife
Before the parade
passes by
I'm going to get
some life back into my life
I'm ready to move out in front
I've had enough of just passing by
life
With the rest of
them
With the best of
them
I'm going to hold my
head up high
Be a
clown
Be a
clown
All the world loves a
clown
With his pants fallin'
down
Or the dance that's a
dream of romance
Or the
scene, where the villain is mean
The world is a stage
The stage is a world
Give my regards to Broadway
Remember me to Herald Square
Tell all the gals
On
the avenue I'm taking you to
That I will soon be there
Whisper of how I'm yearning
To mingle with that old time throng
So give my regards to Broadway
Broadway
How great you are
I'll leave the farm and all its charm
To be a Broadway star
Bright lights, white lights
Where the neons glow
My bags are packed
I've got my act
So all aboard, come on lets go
All aboard, all aboard, all
aboard
Can you hear that
whistle down the line
I
figure that it's engine number 49
She's the only one that will sound that way
On the the Atchison Topeka and the Santa
Fe
Ooo-oo-oo
oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo
Hey Jim,
you'd better get the rig
Ooo-oo-oo oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo
She's got a list of passengers that's mighty
big
Toot toot tootsie,
goodbye
Toot toot tootsie,
don't cry
I'm on a train
that takes me
Away from
you
Oh, you'll never know
how sad that makes me
Kiss
me Tootsie and then
Kiss me
over again
I'll watch for
the mail
I'll never
fail
If you don't get a
letter then you'll know I'm in jail
San Francisco, open your golden gate
You'd let no stranger wait outside your
door
San
Francisco
Here is your
wandering one
Saying I'll
wander no more
Other places
make me love you best
Tell
me you're the heart of all the golden west
Meet me in St Louis, Louis
Meet me at the fair
Don't tell me the lights are shining
Any place but …
Nothing could be finer
Than to be in Carolina
In the morning
Oh and nothing could be sweeter
Than my sweetie
When I meet her in the morning
And if I had Aladdin's lamp
For only a day
I'd make a wish
And here's what I'd say
Oh Rock-a-bye my baby with a Dixie
Melody
When you croon, croon
a tune
Right from the heart
of Dixie
Just hang that
cradle Mammy mine
Right on
the Mason Dixon Line
And
swing it from Virginia
To
Tennessee
With all the love
that's in ya
Weep no more my
lady
Sing that song again
for me
Sing Old Black Joe,
just as though you had me on your
Swanee, how I love ya, how I love ya
My dear old
Baby face, I'm up in heaven when I'm in your fond
embrace
Me, my sweet
embraceable
You and the
night and the music
Thrill
me, but will we be true
After the light and the music dies will I have
Will I have rhythm
Will I have music
Will I have my gal
Who could ask for anything more?
This is a love I give to you
And more
I know I've never lived before
And my heart is very sure
No one else could love
You've made my life so
glamorous
You can't blame me
for feeling amorous
Oh
s'wonderful, s'marvellous
That you should care for
Me and my shadow
All
alone and feeling
Blue
skies, smiling at me
Nothing
but blue skies
Do I
see
After you've
gone
And left me
crying
After you’ve
gone
There's no
denying
Someday when you get
lonely
Your heart will break
like mine and you'll want me only
After you've gone
After you’ve gone
I'll go my way by myself
Here's where the comedy ends
I'll try to deny myself
Love and laughter and friends
I'll face the unknown
I'll build a world of my own
Love, love changes
Everything's coming up roses
And if you're real good
I'll make you feel good
I want your spirits to climb
So let me sing a happy song
With crazy words that roll along
And if my song can make you
H A P P
Why was I born?
To make you
Happy
Happy
To make
you

If you think that you're strong enough
If you think you belong
enough
If you think you
belong
In my solitude
You haunt me
With reveries
Of days gone by
In my solitude
You taunt me
With memories
That never die
I sit in my chair
I'm filled with despair
There's no one could be so sad
With gloom everywhere
I sit and I stare
I know that I'll soon go mad
In my solitude
I'm praying
Dear Lord above
Send back my love
Nice dream
She touched me
She put her hand near mine
And then she touched me
I felt a sudden tingle
When she touched me
A sparkle
A glow
Oh, she knew it
It
wasn't accidental
No she
knew it
She smiled and
seemed to tell me so all through it
She knew it
I
know
She's real and the
world is alive and shining
I
feel such a wonderful drive to Valentining
She touched me
I simply have to face the fact
She touched me
Control myself and try to act
As if I remember my name
But she touched me
She touched me
And suddenly nothing is the same

singing and there's no one
I
smell blossom and the trees are bare
All day long I seem to walk on air
I wonder why
I wonder why
I keep tossing in my sleep at night
And what's more I've lost my
appetite
Stars that used to
twinkle in the sky
Are
twinkling in my eye
I wonder
why
I am dizzy
I am whirling
I feel like my hair is curling
All around my head
Like a lucky bird
Landed on my head
I must pinch myself to see
If this has happened and to me
It's like a lucky bird
Shat upon my head
Ordinarily I'm meek
But I could raise a fuss and shriek
See that cloud
I just might
Jump right up
Grab a bite
But for a while I will
Stand completely still
My heart's trying to tell me something
Yes, my heart begin
Speak or pound or spin
Tell me something
Tell me something
Yes my heart
She's wonderful
Yes my heart
This is our chance
But for a while I will
Stand completely still
Then I'll have to laugh and sing and
dance
My heart's trying to tell me
something
Tell me
something
Tell me
something
Tell me
something
Yes, my
heart
She's
wonderful
Yes, my
heart
This is our
chance
But for a while I
will
Stand completely
still
Then I’ll have to run
and spin
And shout and
shriek
And giggle and
grin
And leap and
prance
And laugh and sing
and dance
Remind me not to find you so
attractive
When I start to
miss you
To touch your hand,
to kiss you
Remind me, to
count to ten
I had the
feeling when I met you
You'd
drive me crazy if I let you
But all my efforts to forget you
Remind me I'm in love again.
I get my heart well in hand and I'm
certain
That I can take you
or leave you alone
Then you
begin that beguine again
and
boom I give in again
I have
a will made of steel my friend
But when it seems about to bend
Remind me not to mention that I love
you
Remind me to be sorry
that we met
Although I adore
you remind me to ignore you
You're one thing I will regret
So when your charm begins to blind
me
I'll simply tie my hands
behind me
Don't let me kiss
you please remind me
Unless,

Erase you
from my mind
But ever since

I cannot

That doesn't mean I love you
I wish that I could love you
I know that I've upset you
I know I've been unkind
I wanted you to vanish from sight
But now I see you in a different light
And though I cannot love you
I wish that I could love you
For now I'm seeing love
Like none I've ever known
A love as pure as breath
As permanent as death
Implacable as stone
A love that like a knife
Has cut into a life
I wanted left alone
A love I may regret
But one I can't forget
I don't know how I let you
So far inside my mind
There you are
And there you will stay
How could I ever wish you away
I see now I was blind
And should I die tomorrow
Another thing I see
Your love will live in me

What
now my love
Now that you've
left me
How can I
live
Through another
day
Watching my
dreams
Turn into
ashes
And my
hopes
Into bits of
clay
Once I could
see
Once I could
feel
But now I'm
numb
I've become
unreal
I walk the
night
Without a
goal
Stripped of my
heart
My soul
What now my love
Now that it's over
I see the world
Closing in on me
Here come the stars
Tumbling around me
There's the sky where the sea should
be
What now my
love
Now that you've
gone
I'd be a fool to go and
on
No one would
care
No one would
cry
If I should live or
die
What now my
love
Now there is
nothing
Only my last
goodbye
How can I lose you
You're all that I know
What will I do now?
Where will I go?
We were together
Now we are through
Why am I losing you?
How can you leave me?
Leave me this way
Leave me to miss you
Day after day
I look around me
You're all I see
Pictures of you leaving me
No one should always lose
Can't I find some kind of peace
Nobody owns the blues
But I have a long term lease
I'll never know why
I never know when
I'm going along, it happens again
I have a blind spot forty miles
wide
I have a terrible
weakness inside
That's how I
lose you
That's how I lose
you
I was another
boy
Simple and happy and
free
He was a bundle of
joy
When did he turn into
me?
How can I lose
you?
You're all that I
had
Where could I
go?
What do I say
now
How was I
bad?
Who can I turn
to?
Where will I
go?
How can I live
now
Missing you
so?
How can you leave
me?
You're all that I
know
Oh!
That's how I lost you
That's how I always lost you
That's how I'll always lose
you
Oh!

It's a god
awful small affair
To the
girl with the mousy hair
And
her Mummy is yelling "No"
But her Daddy has told her to go
And her friend is nowhere to be seen
As she walks through her sunken
dream
To the seat with the
clearest view
And she's
hooked to the silver screen
But the film is a saddening bore
'Cause she's lived it ten times or
more
She could spit in the
eyes of fools
As they ask
her to focus on
Sailors
fighting in the dance hall
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the Lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! I wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling
show
Is there life on
Mars?
It's on America's
tortured brow
Mickey Mouse
has grown up a cow
Now the
workers have struck for fame
'Cause Lenin's on sale again
See the mice in their million hordes
From Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads
Rule Britannia is out of
bounds
To my mother, my dog,
my clowns
But the film is a
saddening bore
’coz I wrote
it ten times or more
It's
about to be writ again
As I
ask you to focus on
Sailors
fighting in the dance halls
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! I wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling
show
Is there life on
Mars?
Is there life on
Mars?
Bach Prelude No.8 in E flat minor
Over my head
I hear music everywhere
Over my head
I hear music everywhere
Over my head
I hear music everywhere
There must be a God somewhere
Is it warm?
Is it soft
against your face
Do
you feel a kind of grace?
Beside the breeze?
Will there be trees?
Is there light?
Does
it harbour on the ground?
Does it shine from all around?
Or just from you?
Is it endless and empty
And you wander on your own
Slowly forget about the folks that you have
known?
Or does rising
bread
Fill up the
air
From open kitchens
everywhere
Familiar faces
far as you can see?
Like a
family?
Do we
live?
Is it like a little
town?
Do we get to look back
down
At who we
loved?
Are we
above?
Are we
everywhere?
Are we anywhere
at all?
Do we hear a trumpet
call us
And we're by your
side?
Will I
want?
Will I wish for all
the things I should have done
Longing to finish what I've only just begun?
Or has shining truth been waiting
there?
For all the questions
everywhere
In a world of
wondering
Suddenly you
know
And you will always
know
Will my mother be there
waiting for me
Smiling like
the way she does
And holding
out her arms as she calls my name?
She will hold me
Just the same
Only
heaven knows how glory goes
What each of us is meant to be
In the starlight
That is what we are
I can see so far

Alone
together
Beyond the
crowd
Above the
world
We're not too
proud
To cling
together
We're strong as
long as we're together
Alone
together
The blinding
rain
The starless
night
Were not in
vain
For we're
together
And what is there
to fear together
Our love is
as deep as the sea
Our love
is as great as a love can be
And we can weather
The great unknown
If
we're alone together
Together
Together
If we're
alone
Together
The stars are gone
Slipped out of sight
I ought to follow them
Into the night
But here is good
Feels almost right
Don't call it love yet
Just call it light
This is what it is to wake up, yeah
This is what it is to feel warm,
yeah
This is what it is to
be filled, sure
This is what
it is to be lost, help
This is what it is to feel scared, God
This is what it is
This is what it is to know the day
And meet the sun
And find that I am not the only one
I am not the only one
Who's afraid of a world
Too big, too bright
This is what it is, this is what it
is
To live in
light
After the ball is over
After the break of morn
After the dancers' leaving
After the stars are gone
Many a heart is aching
If you could read them all
Many's the fears that have
vanished
After the
Ball
