No, don't look at me
Please. Not just yet Why am I here? This is crazy. No, don't look at me
Sing something then,
Oh, just look at me

Whenever I feel afraid I hold my head erect
And whistle a happy tune Anyone can whistle
Whistle at a dragon, down it will fall
When you feel in trouble
When you feel temptation
Not just a little squeak
Take the straight and narrow path
When you feel in trouble
When you feel temptation
Not just a little squeak

Sometimes you think you've lived before
All that you've lived today Things you do come back to you As if they knew the way Oh the tricks the mind can play It seems we stood and talked like this before
The clothes I'm wearing
Some things that happen for the first time
Some things that happen for the first time

I've been thinking about what I want to share with you this evening.
I want to take a journey, a journey through a life. A life that's complex,
varied, intriguing as the words and music that surround it. I'm sure that
the paths that I'll tread have been well-worn by many others.
Blue, songs are like tattoos
You know I've been to sea before Crown and anchor me Or let me sail away Hey Blue, here is a song for you Ink on a pin Underneath the skin An empty space to fill in Well there're so many sinking now You've got to keep thinking You can make it thru these waves Acid, booze, and ass Needles, guns, and grass Lots of laughs, lots of laughs Everybody's saying that hell's the hippest way to go Well I don't think so But I'm gonna take a look around it though Blue, I love you Blue, there is a shell for you Inside you'll hear a sigh A foggy lullaby There is your song from me |

It steals to you softly at night
And echoes around in your brain So seemingly sweet and polite A tender and placid refrain Seductive, delicious it haunts you You'll melt as the melody flows Repeated, insistent it taunts you As time and again round it goes Round it goes Always it goes Padam Padam Padam
It drags up the love that you spurned
Padam Padam Padam

Son of the thief
Son of the saint Who is the child Without complaint Son of the brave Son unknown This is a child like your own The same sweet smile The same sad tears The cry at night The nightmare tears Son of the great Or son unknown This is a child like your own So long ago

If you were the only girl in the world
And I were the only boy Nothing else would matter In the world today We could go on loving In the same old way A Garden of Eden Just made for two Nothing will mar our joy I could say such wonderful things to you There would be such wonderful things to do If I were the only boy in the world And you... The moment you wake up
Forever and ever you'll stay in my heart
I run for the bus dear
Forever and ever you'll stay in my heart
At night when I'm lonely
Forever and ever you stay in my heart
So darling believe me

I've got no strings to hold me down
To make me fret, to make me frown I had strings but now I'm free There are no strings on me I've got no strings so I have fun I'm not tied to anyone How I love my liberty There are no strings on me Hi Ho the merry-o I'm as happy as can be And I want the world to know Nothing ever worries me |

I'll build a stairway to Paradise
Wth a new step everyday I'm gonna get there at any price Stand aside I'm on my way I've got the blues And up above is so fair Shoes go on and carry me there I'll build a stairway to Paradise With a new step everyday It's madness to be always sitting around in sadness

Happy talk keep talkin' Happy talk
Talk about thing you'd like to do You've got to have a dream If you don't have a dream How you gonna have A dream come true? Talk about the moon
Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk
Talk about a star
Happy talk keep talkin' happy talk
If you don't talk happy
The best of times is now
Now, not some forgotten yesterday
Now, not some forgotten yesterday
I remember when I was a very little boy our house burned down. I'll never forget the look on my mother's face as she gathered me up in her arms and carried me through the burning building out on to the pavement. I stood there shivering in my pajamas and watched my whole world go up in flames. And then I said to myself "Is that all there is to a fire?" Is that all there is?
And years later when I was 12 years old my mother took me to the circus. The greatest show on earth - clowns, elephants, dancing bears and a beautiful lady in pink tights who flew high above our heads. As I sat there watching this marvelous spectacle, I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. I didn't know what it was but when it was over I said to myself "Is that all there is to the circus?" Is that all there is?
I fell in love. Head over heels in love with this wonderful person in the world. We used to take long walks along the side of the river. Sit for hours gazing into each other's eyes. So very much in love. And then one day my love went away. I thought I would die, and when I didn't, when I didn't, I said to myself "Is that all there is to love?" Is that all there is?
Oh, I know what your're thinking to yourself. If that's the way
he feels about it, why doesn't he end it all right now.
Is that all there is?

The butcher, the baker, the grocer, the clerk
Are secretly unhappy men because The butcher, the baker, the grocer, the clerk Get paid for what they do, but no applause They'd gladly bid their dreary jobs goodbye For anything theatrical And why? There's no business like showbusiness
There's no people like show people
The costumes, the scenery, the make-up, the props
There's no business like showbusiness
There's no business like showbusiness
There's no people like show people
