My name is Andrew Philip Morris. That is no relation to the cigarette company. I was born in a small town just outside of Birmingham in England in the winter of 1956. After high school I went to the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth and studied International politics.
After graduation I went to the United States and did postgraduate studies in philosophy and religion. In America I ended up writing articles for a student magazine which was fun because it took me all over the country. Most of the time, however, I was based in New York.
After staying there for 8 years, I came back to England and started to work in hotel management. After completing a teacher trainer course
I eventually took up a teaching position in Turkey. I have been teaching English since 1986. I am currently working at Bilkent University in Ankara.

I live with my Turkish wife, Sule, and my son Chris who is 10, in Ankara. My mother and brother both live in a little town called Hednesford in England
