Michael's Charities

Over the course of his lifetime, Michael has given and donated over millions of dollars to numerous charities! What a generous man, ey? :-)
The following are charities he has participated in.

- In October '96, Michael visited a children's hospital in Kaoshiung, Taiwan where he gave away thousands of tickets to his sold out concert to the children.

-Before Michael's concert in Amsterdam, Michael visited two hospitals to give out toys to every child in the facility.

- A concert during Michael's HIStory world tour benefitted a charity fighting against poverty around the world.

- Michael visited a children's hospital in the Czech Republic during his HIStory world tour to talk to the children and offer them a great day to remember by meeting the King of Pop.

- Michael stopped in Moscow to visit a stadium full of children that wanted to show him a concert by performing some of Michael's own songs.

- In Sept. '96, along with Poland's First Lady, Michael met with a gathering of Polish children.

- Before Michael's concert in front of over 70,000, he visited an orphanage in Romania, no doubt to distribute many toys and a generous donation.

- Michael had two concerts in Bombay, India in 1996. He donated all of the proceeds towards a local organization.

- July 1996: Michael pays a visit to a boy named Bela Farcas whom he had helped get a liver transplant.

- In November of '96, Michael visited the Prince of Wales Hospital while on his tour. There, he took the time to sign autographs and supplied nearly 100 kids with free toys!

- Michael gave a large portion of the proceeds from his concerts in Australia to a charity called 'The Smith Family,' which helps feed hungry children.

- In New Zealand, Michael visits a hospital called the 'Starship' and while visting he visited every room and gave each child an autograph and toy.

-While in Thailand, Michael donates $100,000 to an orphanage of blind children.

- In Maharashtra, India many people were unemployed and so Michael helped by donating. How much? 85% of his 5 to 6 million dollar ticket receipts from a recent concert. You do the math...

- In the city of Bombay, Michael asks his driver to please stop at an unsafe, dirty area so he can talk to the children before he left.
