Wayne Brady
Wayne Brady is perhaps one of the funniest comedic actors on TV. His hilarious improv antics paired with his ability to impersonate just about anyone has won the laughs of many Americans as he makes his mark on ABC's hit comedy series "Whose Line is it Anyway?" By the age of 16, Orlando, Florida native Wayne Brady had already decided on a career in the military. Little did he know that his chance performance in a high school play would garner rave reviews and permanently alter his long range plans. While in Florida, Brady immersed himself in the central Florida theater community, performing in numerous stage productions, including "A Chorus Line," "Fences," "A Raisin in the Sun," "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "I'm Not Rappaport." He moved to Los Angeles and performed at the prestigious Mark Taper Forum in its production of "Blade to the Heat," and made television guest appearances on series such as "I'll Fly Away," "Home Court," and "In the Heat of the Night." Wayne hosted the VH-1 comedy series, "Vinyl Justice;" KABC's "Count down to the American Music Awards," and the PBS/BET special, "Safe Night." Wayne also brought the house down in a recent appearance at the 2nd ANNUAL TV GUIDE AWARDS, in which he hosted the "Cheers and Jeers" portion and delivered a song that had the audience in tears. In addition, he recently completed a featured role in the upcoming television musical, "Gepetto," for ABC starring Drew Carey. Wayne is currently working on a pilot, "The Wayne Brady Show" for ABC, which he will star in and co-write. The sketch comdey/improv show is scheduled to debut this season. Wayne has received several nominations for his work in theater, including Best Actor in a Musical for "Cotton Patch Gospel," at the distinguished Edyth Bush Theatre. He was also named Sak Theatre's 1992 Rookie of the Year for Theatre Sports/Improv, and is a member of the acclaimed comedy troupe Houseful of Honkeys, which appears regularly at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles. Wayne continues to tour the country headlining at the nations top comedy clubs. Wayne and his wife Mandie were married last Spring, and currently reside in Los Angeles.
