Middle-aged, working as an executive for a pharmaceutical company in an slumping economy, Chong Sau Lai (Lydia Sum) has high expectations of herself and others and is not very popular with her staff, in particular Wong Man Yee (Fennie Yuen). Lai works hard for the company, but when she sees her superiors fighting for power, she gets angry and leaves. When Yee files Lai's resignation she is not happy for long as her own department is dispanded and they both join the army of the unemployed.
Finding a job is easier said than done and with a build like Lai's, she finds herself hitting walls. However, with a positive attitude, Lai finally finds herself a job in sales. She realises that her build is holding her back so she decides to lose some weight. As for Yee, other than admitting her bad luck, she also realises that she can't leave things to fate. As a last resort, she finds a job as a waitress in a restaurant.
One day, Lai eats at the restaurant where Yee works. Lai is very picky about her food and at first Yee finds this very annoying, but realises that Lai has a great insight into cookery and has an idea to start a restaurant partnership with her. Starting your own business is never easy and problem after problem arises which frustrates Yee, but Lai never gives up. From this example, Yee learns that success requires a lot of perserverance and hard work....

Fennie in the beginning thinking all that she can trust is herself and her abilities finds someone else that she can count on and trust. Who is this lucky fellow? It is Bo Yee(Ah Mun)
Bo Yee(Ah Mun) has started developping feelings towards Fennie for some time in the series, but he got rejected since Fennie did not feel the same way as he did, but at the end, they got together.
BoBo marries Lydia's (La Jai) brother (Faye Jaye Duck) since she was pregnant with his child. Ah Duck did everything he can to please BoBo. BoBo was looking for a rich, handsome man her whole life but was stuck with someone like Ah Duck therefore, she didn't treat him nicely. She treated him like a slave. Ah Duck couldn't stand the fact that she was treating his sister this way too and they got in a big fight. BoBo later on realised that Ah Duck wasn't as bad as she thought and they became a loving couple with an expecting baby comming along the way.
Lydia(La Jaye) comes back from a vacation with Yuen Wah (Joe) at the very end, leaving the audience with a little question of their relationship of either there really good friends now, or if theres something more.
Annie (deen mow) and Kevin (Shong See) broke up towards the end of the series. Annie (deen mow) helped Joe Cheung (Han Gay) with the words of his song that he mailed to a contest and won first prize. Joe Cheung (Han Gay) invited Annie (deen mow) to go with him to claim the prize of their masterpiece. She agreed. On the way to the airport, she spotted Kevin (Shong See). She realised that Kevin (Shong See) really cared for her and they both decided that he will go meet her and Joe Cheung (Han Gay) the next day at the prize claiming. Therefore, Annie and Kevin are back together as a couple.
