The Discovery
Plot:
There's a new kid at school named David. He's your average new kid- somewhat reclusive, a little hostile. Oh, and he found the Escafil Device, a.k.a. "the morphing cube." Except, having no idea what it is, he sells it to a collector over the Internet. Needless to say, this ends up a little messy. With both his parents captured and David having run away with the Animorphs, he is basically an orphan. On top of that, there's a Yeerk conspiracy after the President. And David, with the alternative of dying or being turned over to the Yeerks, becomes an Animorph . . .
Comments:
This is the first in a trilogy, (which you should know anyway) involving lots of
large-scale goings-on. There is also lots of foreshadowing, which, while it's not the
useless AniTV type, is probably wasted because the conclusion of this trilogy and its
aftermath is casually mentioned all over the net and the subject of many fanfics.
Generally good, though the plot carries it more than anything else.
