Why?
A poem by ~Utrahraptor~;)
I've seen distant worlds,
Brutal battles on all I've fought.
Living in the shadows,
Careful not to be caught.
Always one step ahead of death,
And yet two steps behind,
Through all this I wonder,
Why, God? Why?
Looking over my shoulder,
While making every turn.
Trapped in Paranoia,
Will make the mind burn.
Enduring so much pain,
Afraid to utter a cry.
All the while screaming,
Why, God? Why?
Leading a rebellion,
Dreading a mistake.
For a mere one wrong call,
My friend's lives War will take.
Watching my family's innocence,
Always forced to lie,
While inside I'm crying,
Why, God? Why?
Feeling great emotion,
Yet afraid to let it show.
Unwilling to lose her,
Not wanting to let her go.
Catching her bright smile,
Unable to wish friends goodbye.
And begging all the while,
Why, God? Why?
The only way through this war,
Is the strength of my companions.
Just as willing to give their lives,
To help Earth's domination.
Forming a steady bond,
Letting go of doubtful sighs,
Excepting our own destiny,
No longer asking why.
