Sometimes the anime tends to go off on a tangent from the games. Aside from events in the plot, there also the addition of characters. The purpose of this section is to present those characters who have appeared in the anime, but never have (and probably never will) appear in the games.
Tory Froid

Rush

First Appearance: Episode 24 - Rockman Revival Strategy!
A fine tribute to MegaMan's dog in the classic series, Rush is a virus crated by Dr. Hikari who helps MegaMan and friends on all their adventures. He first appeared towards the end of the first season as merely a tool to locate MegaMan's frame. Afterwards, he served as a pet for Roll. Rush often pops out of nowhere through holes that he creates in almost any surface. His most amazing talent, however, is his ability to summon viruses. This has come in extremely handy many times throughout the series. Rush gains able to come into the real world later on, but sometimes goes back into the Net to help MegaMan and his friends.
Aki-chan

First Appearance: Episode 27 - To Be an Idol! (not aired in the English dub)
Aki-chan is popular model from the island of Jawaii. Her body is composed of a type of data different from those of Navis, so they can't touch her. She has many fans both in the real world and on the Net, two of which are GutsMan and IceMan. She first met Lan and his friends when they were visiting Jawaii Island. A Shadow virus had somehow managed to infect her, transforming her song into a tool for a major kidnapping scheme. After MegaMan saved her from the virus, she immediately became good friends with him and the rest of the group's Navis. She makes several more appearances later on in the series in various episodes.
The Net Agents Even though these characters appear in the games, I felt that their Net Agent identies would be worth mentioning.

In reality, the Net Agents are Masa, Miyu, and Sal (respectively according to the pictures). Their job is to stop and prevent NetCrimes both in the real world and on the Net. Commander Beef (far left), Masa in reality, is the leader of the Electopian Net Agents and it's under this identity that he only uses SharkMan. Miyu (Miyumiyu, called Mysteriu in the dub) and Sal (Black Rose), however, use SkullMan and WoodMan, respectively, both as Net Agents and as themselves.
Hoshida Kyuuta

First (and only) Appearance: Episode 43 - Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
Kyuuta is the son of the famous baseball player, Hoshida Kyuuma. When his father got traded to the Nihon Senators, Kyuuta was transferred to ACDC Elementary when they have to move. Kyuuta hated leaving his old school because he had finally become friends with the school's baseball team. As a way to welcome him to ACDC Elementary, Lan and co. decided to have a baseball game of their own using their NetNavis against the players at Kyuuta's old school.
LeagueMan

First (and only) Appearance: Episode 43 - Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
LeagueMan is Kyuuta's NetNavi and plays the position of pitcher in baseball (figures). His special pitch is the Major Ball in which he kicks up dust with his cleats and compresses the ball in his grip before he throws it, which results in the batter seeing two balls. This pitch was deemed impossible to hit until MegaMan and Lan realized the direction of the split and decided to hit both "balls". The result was a homerun. From this one episode, it seems that LeagueMan is meant solely for playing baseball rather than acutally NetBattling.
ShiningMan

First Appearance: Episode 19 - Horror! Devil Chip!
Imagine a very annoying Power Ranger. Now imagine a very annoying Power Ranger who sings his own theme song and you have ShiningMan, one of THE most annoying NetNavis ever. He first appeared in the series in the last bit of episode 19 as ProtoMan's tag team partner during the N1 Grand Prix. At the start of the match, he rushed towards his and ProtoMan's opponents but ProtoMan simply fired a single Cannon shot that not only caused their opponents to logout, but ShiningMan as well (he was too close and got hit from the resulting shockwave). He makes another appearance in episode 48, but only briefly. Despite being annoying, ShiningMan is quite a powerful Navi. His Sunshine Attack causes him to emit bright light from the crest on his head, which blinds his enemies.
RocketMan
Japanese Name: BreakMan

First Appearance: Episode 11 - Invincible Enemy! (Skullmania!)
RocketMan was Tory and IceMan's first opponent in the N1 Grand Prix. As one can tell, he can launch a barrage of missiles from his back, but he can also fire rockets from the launchers taht serve as his arms. He lost the match after IceMan froze him with his Blizzard attack. RocketMan reappears in episode 19 along with WhaleMan as ProtoMan's and ShiningMan's opponents.
WhaleMan
First Appearance: Episode 15 - Special Training, Program Advance!
WhaleMan first appears as SharkMan's second opponent in the N1 Grand Prix. He doesn't have many attacks save for sweeping at his opponents with his tail and blasting water out of his blowhole. During the match, Commander Beef held SharkMan back to give Lan more time to train to perfect the LifeSword Program Advance. He only launched an attack during the last fifteen seconds of the match and WhaleMan logged out after a vicious onslaught of punches and an Aqua Tower assault. He returns later in episode 19 as RocketMan's partner in the tag team match against ProtoMan and ShiningMan.
SanukiMan
Cross Fusion MegaMan (R MegaMan) In the third series, Rockman.EXE Stream, R MegaMan's new appearance is a result of Lan performing Cross Fusion using the new Progress PET.
Cross Fusion ProtoMan (R ProtoMan) Chaud and ProtoMan perform Cross Fusion again about ten episodes later and continue to constantly while working side-by-side with Lan and MegaMan to battle the Darkloids.
In the third series, Rockman.EXE Stream, R ProtoMan's new appearance is a result of Chaud performing Cross Fusion using the new Progress PET.
Yuriko Oozono Although Yuriko appeared in the first Battle Network game as a member of the World Three, she played a very minor role and her appearance was just Ms. Mari in a red dress. I only included her here because her appearance and role are far different from that in the game.
Dark ProtoMan
Slur
Mameo Mameo only appeared for one episode.
Hazuki Yui Hazuki is another character who only makes a one-episode appearance.
Dub Name: NoodleMan

First (and only) Appearance: Episode 55 - Chisao Comes to Town (not aired in the US)
SanukiMan is the mascot of a restaurant that serves sanuki udon, a type of Japanese noodles (hence the reason he looks like a bowl of noodles), and has his own little dance that everybody just LOVES to imitate. The sanuki udon restaurant had just recently opened right next to the curry restaurant run by Mr. Match, Count Zap, Madd, and Yahoot and was driving them out of business. In a desperate attempt to reclaim their customers, Yahoot promised free curry (of course, he didn't expect Lan and co. to wolf down 50 plates of curry). Thinking that the ex-World Three members were trying to steal his customers, the owner of the udon restaurant sent SanukiMan to Chisao, who was visiting from Netopia. Disguised as a GutsMan lookalike called KutsMan (very cheesy, I know), he managed to manipulate Chisao to destroy the curry restaurant. MegaMan and GutsMan tried to stop him while Lan and Dex tried to look for Chisao. Nobody realized that KutsMan was SanukiMan until he did his dance and GutsMan dealt the final blow.
Japanese Name: R Rockman

First Appearance: Axess Episode 1 - Cross Fusion!
Cross Fusion MegaMan (or MegaLan, as I sometimes like to call him) is the result of when Lan performs Cross Fusion with MegaMan. This is done by slotting in a Synchro Chip, developed by Dr. Hikari, into the PET. By doing this, Lan is infused with MegaMan's power and is even given his own customized MegaMan suit. Battlechips must be inserted into the PET before the Synchro Chip in order to be used while Cross Fused. In order to perfomr Cross Fusion, the operator and the Navi must be in perfect harmony with one another. The stronger the bond of friendship between the two, the stronger the fusion. Cross Fusion, however, is not without drawbacks. It puts Lan's own body at risk. Unlike a Navi, whose body is made of data that can be easily repaired, Lan's body, being flesh and blood, cannot recover so quickly from critical damage and can even have him killed. Other than that, the results are amazing. Cross Fusion can only be accomplished in a Dimensional Area, a special field in the real world that sort of digitizes everything inside it, which allows viruses and even Navis to appear in the real world. Lan and MegaMan first performed Cross Fusion when BeastMan appeared in SciLabs. The battle was quickly won, but Lan, having Cross Fused for the first time, passed out right after the battle due to the strain the fusion had on his body. Lan and MegaMan perform Cross Fusion many times throughout the Axess series in order to battle Darkloids in the real world.
Japanese Name: R Blues

First Appearance: Axess Episode 13 - Cross Fusion Terminated!
Like Lan and MegaMan, Cross Fusion ProtoMan is the result of Chaud Cross Fusion with ProtoMan. After proving themselves in their fights with the Darkloids as Officials, Chaud was awarded a Synchro Chip to help in his battles. Unlike Lan, however, he had absolutely no trouble with Cross Fusion whatsoever. He made his debut when Lan and MegaMan has just de-fused after taking one too many hits from DesertMan in the real world. Cross Fusion ProtoMan appeared and saved Lan's hide. DesertMan was defeated when he stabbed him with an AquaSword, which caused the sandy Darkloid to logout.

First Appearance: Axess Episode 10 - Threat of the Dark Chip!
Yuriko is the twin sister of Ms. Mari. She is an agent working for the "Mystery Man". Currently her job is to spread about Dark Chips to various NetBattlers, who are unaware of their dangerous side effects (they give Navis tremendous power, but at the cost of turning them evil). She often disguises herself as her sister to thwart off any Officials, but we as the audience can always tell who is who (Ms. Mari's hair is neatly curled; Yuriko's looks like a pair of croissants). She is also the operator of NeedleMan.
Japanese Name: Dark Blues

First Appearance: Axess Episode 29 - Enzan vs. Blues
In an effort to destroy ShadeMan, Lan resorted to using a Dark Chip on MegaMan. However, Chaud grabbed the evil chip from him before he could use it and slotted it into his own PET. As a result, ProtoMan became consumed with darkness. His newfound powers were able to overcome ShadeMan, but it was still not enough. So, ProtoMan took what remained of his soul and gave it to MegaMan and thus Proto Soul was born and ShadeMan was finally defeated. However, without his soul, ProtoMan was seduced completely by the powers of the Dark Chip and he soon became a member of Nebula's Darkloids. Later on, LaserMan infused ProtoMan with the Dark Soul, making him a full-fledged Darkloid.

First Appearance: Stream Episode 2 - Earth Erasure!
Slur is Duo's herald. When it was made known that the asteroid Duo was piloting was heading for Earth, Bass, who was hoping to find a new challenge, plugged himself in and started heading for the asteroid. Along the way, however, he encountered Slur and a fierce battle ensued. Even with his most devestating attacks, Bass was still no match for Slur and he ultimately lost. As a result, Lan and Chaud performed Cross Fusion and went outside to battle the giant viruses that were appearing in the real world. After a while, the two of them were suddenly transported to what looked like the middle of space, where they met Duo. The giant NetNavi had originally come to Earth to destroy it because of all the bad things that had been caused by humans. However, he took an interest in Cross Fusion and decided to spare Earth for the time being.
Slur's task during this trial period was to assign Asteroid Navis - copies of Navis from the past - to various people and Duo would observe how they interacted and used them. Every person to whom she assigned them, she also granted them a Dimensional Chip - a special chip that would permit their Asteroid Navis to enter the real world without the need for a Dimensional Area.

First Appearance: Stream Episode 4 - Salad Memorial Day!
Mameo was just an ordinary brat who wouldn't eat his vegetables. He's also a fourth grade student at ACDC Elementary School. Everyday at lunch he would sit at his desk picking out the vegetables from his food. Sensing his dissatisfaction, Slur appeared to him and assigned him Asteroid PlantMan. The Wood-element Navi then went about stopping the growth of all vegetables and rigging the machines at the factory that produced the school lunches to discard all of them into the garbage. Mameo was undeniably happy about this, but Asteroid PlantMan deceived and manipulated him. He tricked him into using the Dimensional Chip Slur had provided and he came out of Mameo's PET into the real world. When Lan and Chaud arrived to stop him, he took Mameo hostage and fled to a science lab, where he used the chemicals there to grow giant vegetables and trapped his former operator in a cage of stalks and vines. Lan and Chaud came and performed Cross Fusion to stop him, but Asteroid PlantMan proved to be incredibly powerful. Unable to watch, Mameo began to eat his way out of his prison until he was free. With the boy safe at last, R MegaMan and R ProtoMan deleted Asteroid PlantMan. After the incident, Mameo became an avid lover of vegetables and couldn't stop eating them.

First Appearance: Stream Episode 6 - Stone Panic!
A complete and total klutz, Hazuki works in an office building as a secretary who can never seem to do anything without some unfortunate consequence happening to her. One night while she was resting at home, she received a visit from Slur, who assigned her Asteroid StoneMan. The rock Navi introduces himself to his new operator, but he finds out the moment he finishes that she has gone to sleep. The next morning, Hazuki is late for work and is rushing around getting ready. Again, she fails to notice Asteroid StoneMan. On her way to work, she bumps into Lan and drops her work pass, which he returns to her later. She finally notices Asteroid StoneMan when she takes out her PET to try to fix the photocopier. After a bit of talk, Hazuki dismisses him. This upsets him greatly and he places some sort of curse on her, which makes everything she touches turn to stone (much like the Midas Touch, if you've ever read that story). Before long, everyone and everything in the building has been turned to stone. Lan sees Hazuki in distress and jacks in MegaMan. The blue Navi battles with Asteroid StoneMan for a bit, but then Hazuki inserts the Dimensional Chip into her PET and the giant Navi appears inside the office building. Lan performs Cross Fusion and battles him. In the end, Asteroid StoneMan is deleted and the building is returned to normal. The next day, Hazuki meets Lan again and thanks him, but trips and falls into the fountain outside her office building, dragging Lan with her. Apparently, even after that entire ordeal, she's still a klutz.
