Dragonball Z (otherwise known as DBZ) is a continuation of the original series, Dragonball. In the Dragonball series, Goku was a young child. In Dragonball Z series, he is grown up and has a young boy of his own. He is married to Chichi, the ever-worrying, ever-obsessing mother of their son, Gohan. The plotline of the series revolves mostly around how Goku fights of the Seiyans, and how Gohan is being trained to fight them off also. However, it is a little more difficult to fight those annoying super-beings off when you are a Seiyan yourself.
As you progress in the series, you find out nothing. Only that there are stronger fighters who endlessly appear to challenge the team. A lot of which are androids. For example, the Vegeta fight lasted a VERY LONG TIME. When that was over with, the Ginyu force appeared. When THAT was over with, Freiza appeared. They beat him after much squandering (3 months' worth!). Then the Garlic, Jr episodes started. And when those were done with, you find out that Freiza is still alive, and go off to fight him again. Then Trunks comes and kicks the crap out of Freiza and his daddy in two episodes. Then the team trains for 3 years to fight androids. Well the two androids they fought were the wrong ones, and once they finished them off, they fought three more. To find out Cell, another android was going to absorb the androids 17 and 18 into his system and become the most powerful fighter... blah blah blah....
The only complaint I have here is that the fights last way too long. The Freiza-Goku fight lasted about three months on the cartoon network. I just got too sick of it to watch it anymore. Same now with the androids... end it already and start GT!

Goku is a saiyan.. or seiyan, depending on how you spell it. He is strong. And those spikey hairs are sexy, according to me. Where DOES that man get his hairspray? I must get some! So, he's fighting saiyans, raising a family, trying to keep up with all the kayo ken techniques, spirit bombs, and more things than a guy seems to be able to deal with! So, in turn, he fights to keep the earth safe. And his son wants to follow in his footsteps. But his wife, Chichi, does NOT like that idea. She wants Gohan, his son, to stay home and be safe. Too bad. He fights and he is the main character in Dragonball GT. He fights a lot, too. So Vegeta, Nameks, and that guy who smells like toenails and looks like Jesse Ventura are all enemies.
As stated before... long long long long long long fights. I have watched maybe 85% of all the episodes.. until when I thought of DBZ, I wanted to throw up.. I decided maybe I should take a little break. That's how I'm feeling now. With that stupid android saga.. the never ending fight. 17 kept me interested for a quarter's worth. (of school, dummy!! Just kidding!) Then, somethin' happened to him and I kinda lost interest. Yeah, I get pretty shallow. Cell's annoying and bigheaded. So is Vegeta, as much as I like him. He reminds me of Wufei... (Gundam Wing) And THEN... and THEN.. and THEN IT NEVER ENDED!!
