Overall Grade: A (96%) Cheesy and sheesy. Lots of happy-happy things that of which we love. Some blood, no swearing, among a few other things.

Heather's Magic Knight Rayearth Review

Three girls from another world: Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuzaki, and Fuu Huoji, are summoned by Princess Emeraude to protect Cephiro. Cephiro is another world. That is why the girls are referred to as "young girls from another world" all the time. Anyway, the Master Mage Clef meets up with all of the girls and tells them that he will give them magic powers if they agree to become the MAGIC KNIGHTS... Hikaru agrees first and he gives her, and only her, the POWERS! OF FIRE!!

Anyway, the girls go through trials and stuff and have to find Rune Gods, which are very big Mechs. And very cool mechs at that. They are off to find their way to Emeraude, who is the "pillar" of Cephiro. The pillar prays for the well-being of the world and can only fill her heart with hopes for Cephiro. Well, obviously something is going wrong, because the Princess summoned the Magic Knights to save Cephiro. What ever will happen...?

Magic Knight Rayearth is a cutesy magical girl show made recently. It has a good storyline along with good character development... but cheesy music. The opening song gets stuck in your head for weeks on end! Anyway, the dubbed version is cheesy. I don't know about the subbed because I haven't seen the subbed! ^_^ The thing I really liked about Magic Knight Rayearth is the ending. It really is not what you would expect from your typical "Magical Girl Show."

Heather's ratings

Storyline

5/5 Good story, surprising twist at the end of the series.

Character Development

5/5 All the characters had their very own certified personality.

Plot Depth

5/5 The plot gets deeper as you continue on through the story. It starts out pretty typical.

Music

4/5 The end music is better than the earlier music. It just gets better as you go.

Sexual Content

5/5 None. But Ferio has a crush on Fuu......

Nudity

5/5 When the girls get their magic they are nude.. BUT they are colored in with their magic's color so you can't see anything, its not detailed (like cartoon network's version of sailor moon's transformation)

Violence/Gore

4/5 Things get killed, people die, and people get beat up. Hikaru bleeds a lot.

Animation

5/5 Its pretty good, the girls hair and eyes are the most detailed!

Profanity

5/5 No. The girls are WAY too happy when they announce the episode names.

Overall goodness

5/5 I liked the story, I liked the characters, and I liked the twist at the end. I also like how the girls can charm pretty much anyone into being good. Yeah, I do that every day. Oh yeah, and mind you- NEVER say the girls' names out of order. You always say Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu. NEVER Umi, Hikaru, and Fuu, or GOD FORBID Fuu, Umi, and Hikaru. If you have seen this show, you may have picked up on that. They never say them out of order!

Totals: 48/50, very good, and I can't say that there was really anything offensive to anybody throughout the series.

Megan's Magic Knight Rayearth Review

Magic Knight Rayearth. Three junior high school students, Hikaru Shiidou, Umi Ryuzaki, and Fuu Houji get summoned to Cephiro by Princess Emeraude. There, they must fight monsters that look like big piles of poo (ok, it was only Ascot's "friend") and make lots of friends, and Hikaru falls off a cliff. But she's fine, don't worry. Ferio comes. He says a lot of things to Fuu. You'll like it... if you like MG's. Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu are three girls from another world. Yeah, yeah, but no one seems to know their names... Not even Clef!! Cheese, sugar, and a beensy bit of slowness and captain obviousness (oh, some mech too. How many magical girls have MECHS??)

As you probably already know, three girls were summoned from Tokyo Tower on a field trip to Cephiro, a magical land of the will. If you wish for something hard enough, you will get it. Only if your heart is pure and true and blah blah blah. So, they get transported, and a mage named Clef (Master Mage Clef) tells them that they are to become Magic Knights, and kill High Priest Zagato. He's capturer the Pillar of Cephiro, Princess Emeraude. (the pillar is the person who spends all their life captive and praying for the well-being of the people. He/She must spend all their mind and heart in their prayers for the world.) So, monsters have appeared. Princess Emeraude summoned the girls. They set off, to find friends and enemies, and poo piles, and friendship galore. And the Rune Gods, and the magic. (Flame Arrow! Ruby Lightning! Water Dragon! Sapphire Whirlwind! Wings of Protection! Healing Wind! Emerald Typhoon! and etc)

Megan's ratings

Storyline

5/5 Ah, an interesting twist on Zagato

Character Development

5/5 Plenty. You find out Umi fences, Hikaru has never played a video game, Fuu is an archery student, etc. etc.

Plot Depth

5/5 Pretty deep for an MG (magical girl) show

Music

4/5 The VCR is leaking cheese again!

Sexual Content

5/5 None. Zip.

Nudity

5/5 When the girls get their armor, they are nudee's. But they are colored in all pretty-like.

Violence/Gore

4/5 "I must go on!" To quote a Hikaru.

Animation

5/5 very nice. (I was amazed at how HUGE their eyes were. I mean, even for anime)

Profanity

5/5 Not a thing that was actually offensive. Unless happiness offends you.

Overall goodness

5/5 It was really unique at the end. I liked it.. there is a sequel to this series, Magic Knight Rayearth 2, though.

Totals: 48/50, very good.
