Overall Grade: A (95.5%) Very Good, was very violent (YAY!), some swearing, dubbing was. . . weird. Subs are like Closed Captioning, so that's werid also. Voilence galore. No nudity.

Heather's The Princess Mononoke Review

The Princess Mononoke, or Mononoke Hime, as it has been known in Japan, is an excellent movie portraying religion and the corruptness of human beings everywhere. The plot revolves around a young boy who kills a boar-god while trying to protect his village. The boar-god was possessed and it hurt him, scarring the young prince and leaving him to die. He goes on a journey to be healed, and meets up with the Princess Mononoke, and things take off at a high speed from there.

The animation in this movie is very well done and nearly breath-taking at times. The music fits well with the scenes. The voices and dubbing are some of the best I have seen yet. Overall, there isn't much to complain about in this movie at all! Even my boyfriend thought it was "okay", which means it must be good! (he is critical at liking anime).

Megan's Princess Mononoke Review

Princess Mononoke was an excellent movie. But it's not quite for everyone. The animation is exceptional, and the story is excellent to go along with it.

Ashitaka is a prince, and he's out in the forest. As he's going back to town on his horse, he sees a strange being in the bushes. It charges, and Ashitaka fights it. It touches his right arm, and he gets "demon markings" there. Now, whenever a god or demon is near, it swells up and gets kindof a mind of it's own. Not necessarily good, mind you. He is kinda kicked out of the town he lives in. Now, he must go around wherever he pleases, seeing the world with "eyes, unclouded by hate". The story progresses as "the wolf girl", San, attacks Irontown. They try to kill her. (the women are a hoot!) And then, some stuff happens, and you meet the Forest Spirit... freaky...

San is the Princess Mononoke. (moh-no-no-kay) She lives with the animals in the forest, and can talk to them. The Forest Spirit controls life and death in the forest. When San brings Ashitaka there, it chooses to let him live. We are all happy now. Yeah, it was great and all. Of course, then someone wants to kill the Forest Spirit. And, of course, that would not be good. CAN THEY DO IT???
