This movie surprisingly had more of a plot than "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" Don't get me wrong, I do like the television show, but the plot is rather repetitive as are most TV show's plots.
This movie actually had a great amount of science involved in it, which was probably too advanced for America's young children, but not Japan's. I suppose they had to appeal to all ages, since all the kids came to see were the Pokemon on the screen, and to yell out the names of all the pokemon they knew.
There are some funny lines in the movie that young children wouldn't understand, either. There was also a cute little 20-minute feature in the beginning of the show that kids probably wondered what was going on. It was about Pikachu's vacation, which ended up turing into a quest to bring all the pokemon together in peace and happiness, blah blah blah.

It all started on a DARK and STORMY NIGHT! MEWTWO was CREATED. He got MAD. He YELLED. He blew up some LABS. He FLEW off. Into the NIGHT. Then there was "GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!" And there was an appearance of Team Rocket! They mentioned Minnesota! WAH HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Then they landed on an ISLAND. They FOUGHT. They LOST. Team Rocket stumbled upon a CLONING MACHINE. They CLONED Meowth, aka Nyanko!! He was ANNOYING. The people lost all their POKEmOn. They were SAD. ASH chased PIKACHU. They both FELL. Ash BROKE the MACHINE. He got all the POKEmOn back. They FOUGHT their CLONES. Ash tried to stop the FIGHT. I CRIED. Mandy LAUGHED. I punched her ARM. (Mandy is my FRIEND) I POKED her EYE. So then she sorta CRIED, TOO. The lady next to me YELLED like MEWTWO. I wanted to POKE her EYE too. THEN, the POKEMON CRIED, too. Then, THE END came. MEW says, 'mew'.
