Well, I'm going to start off by telling you that I had very high expectations of this movie. Everybody on the Internet made it sound really good. When in fact, it was just the opposite. The animation was very poorly done. The music was cheesy. They had the typical big-breasted, small-armored, possessed-battle female who HAD to be in the shower in one scene. The story line went as follows:
Some guy finds out that some other guy is gonna help him fight. So suddenly, a whole slew of characters with no personalities (for the most part) showed up at the very end and left again. I think some guy was trying to get rid of them, but I wasn't sure because they just kinda showed up and left.
The good points were: A couple of the characters had good development, and the story line had good potential.

The story revolves around defeating a man named Chaos and helping a girl named Ellis, who has been poisoned. The main character, uh, I forgot his name, (he's got red spiky hair) is avenging his brother's "death". It was stupid and boring, and I did NOT like it. But I think the music was good. Another RAMUNES example here... (see Knights of Ramune. Bad show, awesome music) And all the characters tended to show up and die or something. I cared about nothing for them and hoped they'd die so the show would end quicker. They didn't.

Battle Arena Toshinden was a poorly animated, poorly dubbed, POOR movie. If you are a fan of the fighting game, then check it out. We're pretty sure you'll be disappointed, but we won't hold you back. We think the game is MUCH better, and you should spend your time playing IT rather than watching THIS.
