Overall Grade: 82%, or a B-. It wasn't terrible, but it was by no means the most wondrous thing to grace this Earth, and surprisingly better than we thought it to be originally. It was slightly over mediocre.

Heather's Variable Geo Review

Variable Geo is an action/comedy series (with a hint of sci-fi and ecchi) about waitresses fighting for money. ^_^ All of the toughest waitresses from around the world can compete in VG battles. They try to make it to the final rounds in order to win millions of dollars in a real estate prize for their restaraunt. However, they can use the money for what they like as well... so you know you're going to have some greedy little person trying to get that money for the wrong purpose. So then, what happens to the losing opponent? They don't get anything - only the ultimate embarassment. They have to take off all of their clothes in front of the audience so they remember the horror of losing. >_<

Yuka Takeuchi is our main character. She wants to fight and win this money for her boss, who would like to get the money for the real estate. Her friend, Satomi, doesn't want to fight. However, when Yuka takes on a tough opponent named Jun, things get a little weird. Yuka wins only because she has a special bond with Satomi. For some reason, they can help each other out using a touch between their hands. So obviously, Satomi's still got the will to fight in her, but she just isn't doing anything about it.

Later on, Satomi's brother has a few problems. In order to help him out, she's gonna need some money... so her only option is to fight again. Since she hasn't done this in a long time, she is willing to go to almost any length to gain strength. She must, at all costs, win the final battle and get that money. Well, I already told you people want to stick their noses in here and there, and with Satomi's desperation, someone's bound to take advantage of her weakened state for the wrong purpose. Watch it and find out... ooh, isn't that INTRUIGING?!

As for things to look out for, there's a lot of detailed boob nudity. There are some torture scenes, lots of fights (being this is a fighting show), some blood and gore (although not much), mild profanity, and some sexual scenes. It's not for the children, I tell ya. In fact, it's aimed at 13-25 year-old guys with testosteone levels above all comprehension to the women ^_- Just kidding. It is a fan-service show, so most guys should enjoy it. Some girls (if you're a fan of sci-fi and fighting) may like it too!

Heather's ratings

Storyline

5/5 It wasn't very deep or anything, but it got so much better towards the end of the second episode and the beginning of the third. I'll also rate it higher because it was so... different in who fought who, what they fought for, etc.

Character Development

4/5 Not very well done on most characters. They fought, left, and you never heard of them again. Yet you got the idea they were important because they were in the opening/ending credits...

Plot Depth

4/5 Towards the end it got much better, but not a lot was explained overall.

Music

5/5 It was pretty typical of an anime. "Dakishimete, blah blah blah..." (hold me, then they continue to blabber about love and the strength that can shine out through your inner soul... etc etc...)

Sexual Content

3/5 The women, when they lost, were forced to grab themselves and get naked for the embarassment factor. Also, there were some lesbians wandering about, grabbing other women's boobs and saying things like, "Ooh! They're so soft and SQUISHY!!!"

Nudity

2/5 There is so much in every episode. People get naked all of the time, and there are plenty of fully-detailed breast shots throughout. There wasn't any on the... nether regions, shall we say? Just your normal hairless anime people *snickers*.

Violence/Gore

3/5 There were freakish experimental things going on, blood, people beating each other up, torture scenes, etc.

Animation

5/5 Very good and smooth.

Profanity

4/5 They swear at each other and things of the sort.

Overall goodness

4/5 It's pretty decent. I was surprised.

Totals: 39/50, or pretty good. I liked it, and I didn't think I was gonna. I mean, it was a request review. I don't think I would have even picked up the box if it wasn't requested. It has Yuka on the front with her breasts twice the size of her head, wearing a short skirt. Looked cool, says I. *not! heh heh heh heh heh.*

Megan's Variable Geo Review

Okay, well, this is my first impression of Variable Geo. FRIES!! Oooh. . .I like fries. (it says something like "You want fries with that?" on the box) Other than that, I wasn't too interested. Most shows that require high, high HIGH levels of testosterone. Hey, I might be a little manly, but my levels aren't through the roof. I thought it might be funny, but had no real interest. Didn't give it much more thought. . . until. . . I borrowed my Dragon Half tape to a buddy of mine. He requested Cutey Honey. I told him we'd work on it. (not all of it has been released) Then, a few days later, he asked if I'd heard of "Variable Geo". Yeah? "Can you do a review for me?" Oookay, see what I can do.....

Anyway, there are quite a few people that you should know. Yuka, the main girl, is a waitress (like all the other girls), and she wants to win the VG tournament for her boss, who wants the real estate that comes with the victory. Satomi, Yuka's best friend, is also a waitress, who supposedly has given up fighting, But you can tell, during the fights, that she wants to be in on it. Jun, a girl with really long black hair, after losing to Yuka, becomes a good friend. Ayako, this lesbian chick that Satomi ends up fighting, only appears once, but never again. Damian, this psycho dude with sunglasses, runs around getting shots which either seem to destroy him or make him stronger. Reimi, this silver-haired woman who likes roses, Washio, and hurting people, is the previous victor of VG. Washio is her assistant; a cute little guy who wears glasses and blushes a lot. Kaori, a smart girl who thinks she can win by being smart, and that's about all there is to her. Chiho, a spy, Manami, a girl who looks and acts like a cross between Sasami (Tenchi Muyo), Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon), and Chibi Moon (Sailor Moon). She likes to grab people's chests and announce how soft they are. Such a winner. Fianlly, there's Erina, the Playboy Bunny lady. She hs a huge following.

Okay! Now, on with the story. Yuka gets into VG, and her first battle is with Jun. Jun ends up losing. This is where we find out what the punishment is for losing. The loser must humiliate themselves to remember the horror of losing. In other words, attractive, big-bosomed women strip naked. Yiipee! (for you lovers of nakedness) So Jun does so, and all is well again. Satomi's brother, Daisuke, is in the hospital. He needs a very expensive operation. Satomi doesn't have the money, so she joins VG. Anything for Daisuke. Anyway, things are not going too good for her. People are giving her weird shots, and no one knows where she is. Yuka and Jun set out to find her. Satomi fights Ayako, who is very lesbian-ish. Off she goes again. Reimi is getting involved, and everyone is getting all these psycho things happening to them.

All in all, really good. I thought I'd be giggling over "fries" forever. Turns out, it was decent on its own.

Megan's Ratings

Storyline

5/5 Pretty good!

Character Development

5/5 I liked Yuka and Satomi, Juna was cool, but most of the other characters were. . . um. . .

Plot Depth

5/5 I guess you never can say something looks totally dumb based on boob sizes. Just like you can't say it's good based on boob sizes.

Music

5/5 Pretty good. It was all cutesy.

Sexual Content

3/5 Well, sometimes to humiliate yourself, you had to masturbate in front of people. No, you never saw it; only was it implied.

Nudity

3/5 Quite a bit, but most of the time, you couldn't see anything. (poo poo for you fanboys!)

Violence/Gore

3/5 There's some blood and other disturbing things, but nothing incredibly serious.

Animation

5/5 Pretty smooth and good!

Profanity

4/5 Ah, a few things here and there. Nothing bad.

Overall goodness

5/5 Pretty good! I think that it as so much better than I expected.

Totals: 43/50, I recommend it. (which I didn't think I would) Now, for those fries. . .

TOTALS PUT TOGETHER: 41/50 we both liked it a lot.

Comments: Variable Geo is a short, one-tape series recommended for male audiences. There isn't a whole lot that appeals to females, especially since it is loaded with lesbians and nudity. So fanboys, unite! Rent this movie and have fun! Other than that, if you'd still like to see/purchase this anime, then know that it's not of the best interest of the 'queens. But hey; you're an individual: decide for yourself if you like it or not. ^_-
