The Venus Wars is a good movie. I can never watch it seriously, though. I always watch it when I get tired and can't concentrate, or else I get giddy and can't quit laughing at stupid things. The first time I watched it, the time was like, 2:30-5:00 AM (off of the Sci-Fi Channel). So, yeah. But it was the first anime I ever watched besides Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z.
It is about a band of Battlebike riders and a reporter from Earth who get caught up in a war between two major parts of Venus. Lots of stuff happens, the characters get caught in predicaments, and they change and grow, yadda yadda yadda. Its a REALLY long movie and its hard to explain everything. Just trust me on this one, it's really good.
There is some inappropriate stuff for children in this show. There is some making out in the underwear, blood, swearing, and homosexuals (not that I have anything against them; some parents just don't want their kids exposed to that stuff).
Storyline
5/5 I thought that it was interesting.
Character Development
4/5 Good on the main characters, but the rest were just there.
Plot Depth
4/5 Not very deep, but nonetheless, it was interesting.
Music
5/5 I like cheesy 80's music. I WAS BORN IN THE 80'S, and the MONSTERS OF ROCK taught ME how to live, and love. (if you haven't seen the commercial, then just ignore that last comment!)
Sexual Content
5/5 Some making out in undies, but the undies were irrelevant to the making out. Sounds dumb, but Maggie rescued Hiro and bandaged his leg, and washed his bloody pants.
Nudity
5/5 Some underwear! And Miranda's cleavage.
Violence/Gore
4/5 Explosions, deaths, and some bloody scenes going on.
Animation
5/5 Good for the late 80's, but some was pure CHEEEEESSEEEEEYYY.
Profanity
4/5 Lots of swearing...but it isn't so much that it is annoying.
Overall goodness
5/5 I liked it!
Totals: 46/50, yay I'm tired and always laughing at the movie!
NANEO.... I'm liking all the explosions and stuff, but where's all the OTHER stuff? I mean, I like explosions and all... but I kinda forgot who was good and who was bad. But NOW I remember, cause Ishtar is ISHY!!
So.. anyway, Hiro Seno, a motorbike "baka" and his girlfriend Maggie.. make out in their underwear! Ahh... I'm tired and zooey.... Miranda spits!!! Sue is a big BAKA!! Sometimes... but she can be cool too...
HINT: When assassinating people, take the safety off your gun. It works SO much better that way
I liked it cause there are explosions and cool gay guys who drink gasoline! He was funny.
There are bands of motorbikes all over the place, and they want to claim Venus back for their own, as it should be. War is everywhere, and that sucks big time. Hiro wants to get a little army together, and kill Ishtar. That's good... good. Hiro's girlfriend, Maggie, wants peace again. She is leaving for the Earth, along with a weird reporter named Sue. She gets on my nerves most of the time. I like her and all, but none of the characters did I get emotionally attached to. I really didn't care too much about them, so that's about all I have to say on that subject. And anyway, they end up having a race for freedom from camps. I laughed at them. It was freally fun.y And the ending song is the MOST funny! Especially when you're extremely tired and sing with it but you cvan't. Then you're too loud and wake up your parents, whoa re not pleased with this arrangement.
Storyline
4/5 Good.. but could use a few more character close ups...
Character Development
4/5 Who's THAT guy? And who is Manuel?
Plot Depth
