Arkansas Families

My first contact with our Veazey cousins in Arkansas was between 15-20 years ago when I contacted Lewis (1236) and Billy (1239) Veazey, grandsons of the Fielding Veazey (320) who left Granville County, NC, and migrated to Bradley County, Arkansas. Soon after that, Ann Veazey Whitledge (3723) wrote to me about our possible connection. At that point we did not have a clue as to the connection. We soon learned and this is also the family group of James Hill (3726).

Then Cousin Link put us in touch with Cousin Eleanor Mayfarth (2551), whose ancestor, Rev. James Veazey (152), came through Pope County, Arkansas. We have a new email cousin who is descended from his daughter, Lucretia Ann Veazey (403), who we hope will join us for this reunion.

And then there is another Abner Veasey, whom we believe is a descendant of the James Veazey, Jr. and Ann Johnson, who shows up in Drew County, Arkansas. He and his descendants are mentioned frequently in the Drew County History. And there is the J. C. Veazey family of Cotton Plant, who migrated from Tate County, MS.

I hope I haven't overlooked a group, but if so, let me know about it. I need help from descendants of all of these groups to give me some of the background on those families to use in the reunion booklet. We will give these ancestors some historical perspective!
