Keith did not know Peggy by name, so I had to do some investigating to determine the location of the pictures. Billie and Peggy told me that these pictures had evidently been in the home of Aunt Nettie Veazey Tilley of Fuquay and had been given to them by her daughter-in-law. Having a copy was not good enough for me, I wanted to touch the real thing, so Peggy and I had an afternoon visit a couple of weeks ago. She said that Billie wanted me to add these artifacts to my vast collection of Veazey memorabilia.
She didn't have to tell me twice!! Now I am the keeper of the pictures of Squire Alfred and Margaret Frances, my great-grandparents. Most of his great-grandchildren have never seen a picture of him. (Clip art above not meant to resemble Squire Alfred and Margaret.)
My daughter, MaryAnn, has been able to enhance Keith's digital photography and print some very good copies of these pictures for me. What would we ever do without such talented children? Click here to take a trip back to visit Squire Alfred Moore Veazey and his wife, Margaret.
